I was talking with my boyfriend about friendships. When I go out with a girl's night out, it is much different than a boy's night out I think. We talk about feelings much more, whereas according to him guys just talk about sports and business mostly. I don't think that I friendship is real unless I can share my emotions and my friend can share hers. I think it is different with guys as a general rule. What do you think?

What Girls & Guys Said

Yes and no. My main objective if I have negative emotions is to shut the thoughts around it till logic is restored. When it is I might find i don't need to do anything. If I do, then I know what to do then.
Plus I guess both genders know how to respond to the same gender.
I might tell a friend, because I am seething, "my boss said XYZ to me". His response will be something like "CUNT, I would have given him a bunch of fives". All is well in the world after that, in less than two sentences.
Guys know how to respond to guys. Girls know how to respond to girls. But it is not quite right with guy to girl or girl to guy because - OMG - we are different.
I just think guys are more laconic
No, in my opinion. If anything, they're shallower, because women place much more emphasis on what their friends think of their decisions, whether they are career, employment or politically based, than men do. That's not emotional bonding; it's just fear of not being popular.
The content of the friendships is quite different, and the way the genders communicate, however these differences don't tend to equal lesser feelings about friends. Both bond, just in different ways.
Well I wouldn't say emotionally deeper, in my case I would say emotionally slower perhaps lol. I believe it takes a long time for me and my friends to talk about life difficulties, and it's my impression that women together may reach that point faster
Emotions? Oh hell no! A guy can have his man-card revoked for talking about his e feelings. The only exceptions are anger and humor and horniness. The rest of it is all squishy and gross.
Unless of course you're talking about a group of gay guys. Then it's nothing but gossip and "feelings" and backstabbing veiled insults born from jealousy. Indistinguishable from a group of women. 🤣
Female friendships are rather mentor-apprentice friendship at some level. While men prefer action. For men is going with a guy somewhere he likes to go or doing something together he likes to do has more value than listening to hours longe monologue about how shitty their life is.
Women are usually superficial with one another.
Holding each other’s hands as they talk about feelings while secretly wishing to be the best in the bunch.
Guys don’t talk much true.
But a bond between guys is airtight.
We’d take a bullet for each other if it came to it.
Of course there are exceptions.
And if your friends are real one hang onto them.
But I don’t agree with the generalization.
i think our relationships are more profound especially emotionally. due to toxic masculinity, anything deemed as care or affection towards another man is considered gay and wrong
I believe that female friendships are more emotionally deep.
At the end of the day we all are alone. I think we need money that we can rely on. Friendship is just a substitute. Money is real help.
Maybe as a whole. Like women probably forge more relationships with other women, guys less so. But some guys have pretty deep bonds with other guys. It's just probably much more simplified than womens. Women ate probably more touchy-feely while guys are more mutual respect.
My casual impression is that male friends do things together, while female friends talk about meaningless crap with each other.
The actual time spend on anything deep is considerably less than 5% either way.
I’m not trying to sound like a pick me but tbh my most true and loyal friends had usually been guys. No hidden agenda between us or romantic interest, just platonic friendship.
yes. we guys don't delve into each others lives and emotions. we just watch the game together!
if someone does ask- we say the harsh form of 'i thought you were straight'.
Just because you share some feelings and emotions doesn't mean you have a ´deep friendship´´. I've heard some of those conversations, and a walk through the oceans of them barely got my feet wet.
I don't know, maybe not. My best friend is a girl and she says she feels deeper connections with guys. And I feel the same. I think deepest is opposite sex.
Yes its different with guys cause we dont get emotional unless we have to
Yes,, because female are more sensitive and imotional
I think women make the worst friends with each other. They hate to see each other do well and will deliberately give each other bad advice.
I found that I could discuss personal problems with female friends
Yes, because unlike men who continue to be taught stoicism, women are socialized to express emotions we'd be afraid to reveal to our buddies.
Generally yes but there are exceptions, I tend not to talk about money or sport.
Well yes in many ways. Guys don't braid each others' hair or cry on each other's shoulders.
It has nothing to do with gender. It has to do with the individuals emotional intelligence
Depends on your definition of "emotionally deeper".
seriously?
male friendship is much deeper then female friendship.
It doesn't just depend on gender or sex it depends heavily on the individual.
Yes but but I prefer the make relationships
I think it's half-and-half
No its connection rather than gender.
