Who are friendships more important to, men or women?

In my experience, I've seen way more girls doing things with friends than guys. Heck, in college, I saw my friends once a semester, if that. I can go months without seeing my friends, and it's like nothing has changed when I see them again. From my POV, women value friends more, but I could be totally wrong. I'd like to hear other people's perspectives on this.

In general probably girls. It is really going to depend on the person. Some people value having friends more than other people. Some people regardless of gender like to be alone or are introverts. I think much more about the person than gender. I general though I think you are right that girls tend to have a bigger group of friends. I see it at the bar I work every night. There will be groups of 5+ girls typically to guys that just come with one friend.

Yeah, that's fair, depends on the personality too. I'm perfectly content with how my friendships are now (I only have 3 people I consider friends, but only see 2 of them much) But I definitely tilt toward the introverted side of things. Appreciate the input!

I would not say that woman value friendships more I would say they need friendships more. Men value their friends equally as much but they can last longer without contact with their friends.

Excellent point of view. So compared to men, you'd say women need the social connection more? I can see that, especially with my mom

Yes, women use their social relationships to cope with stress and woman usually have more social stress then men, because woman care more about their social environment.

I think that depends in the context of how you mean that. To be a guy is to be a rock on his own. A MAN is unafraid to go his own way. But that does not mean friendship does not have any value to a man, quite the opposite. Women just are more social. Women lean on thier friends more. Men do not want to impose on thier friends.

A lot of girls in my life have frenemies. The guys I've met don't act that way, we are either friends or not. Although, true friends are important to both guys and girls.

Absolutely. If I don't like someone, for whatever reason, I won't make an effort to be close to them. If I'm working with them or something, I'll keep my opinions to myself & do whatever needs to be done, and that's it.

Very good question. I'd say women.. I've read somewhere this has been shown by research, as women express feelings of loneliness more than men. I don't know how accurate this is

Thanks for the comment! That's accurate, at least to me. When I feel lonely, I don't show it. Just do my best to entertain myself to keep my mind off my current mindset.

Men, they might only see each other twice a year but it's back to the same old immediately
