What’s something you genuinely stopped caring about with age?

I'm losing the interest on watching soccer...

this last World Cup was "okay" but I was there for the love I have for the game... and because I was in good company too while watching

but...

as an entertaining thing to watch... that's falling apart rapidly, especially with the extreme amount of gambling ads and other commercials

other than the World Cup... I'm not really watching much of the other soccer leagues around the world, I just don't care the same anymore for it

Yeah, I really relate to this. I used to love football too but I’ve gradually stopped caring. The constant gambling ads, politics, the Super League drama, and always favoring those bigger clubs and countries just ruined a lot of the enjoyment for me. Even all the constant rule changes get annoying

that's true... that was also an issue for me before the World cup

it's more about big contracts... and marketing

players who have won nothing substantial, but already get called "cracks" and are given millions over winning nothing... but selling a lot

it's more about the money than the love of the sport

Exactly. The money, player prices and salaries have become absurd. It feels like image and marketing matter more than actual skills sometimes. Even younger players seem more focused on fame, social media and everything around football than the game itself. So I think a lot of people don't enjoy it anymore...

well, the other one that I would follow and watch as much... that was the other football, the NFL and some college football

I still watch it nowadays and the new season starts very soon, so... we'll see how that goes

Definitely what other people think of me. It used to affect my confidence, and my family also raised me to care a lot about other people’s opinions. But now I’ve realized that what people say really isn’t that important. At the end of the day, I know myself better than anyone else, so what I think about myself matters more than what they think.

Yeah, I think it’s so easy to care about other people’s opinions when you grow up being taught to worry about how you’re perceived. It’s actually pretty freeing when you realize that not everyone is going to like or understand you anyway and that’s okay.
