Is a rising carbon tax fair for consumers, and where is the money spent?

With gas going up the tax is going up but is that fair on the consumer?

i oppose but can defend the fairness. a company with lots of co2- pay more tax- charge more for product then buyer buy from OTHER COMPANY so it rewards the factory with less co2.

I don't think that's how it works. Generally gasoline taxes are by the amount sold, not the price paid.

In USA the tax is fixed per gallon
Other countries like me, it's percent of the overall price

I would say it is a very stupid way to fix the environment because it makes all your voters hate you. If you want to fix the environment, you play the Robin Hood game: you tax junk making businesses such as a cigar companies or fast fashion companies, then you take the tax you collected and you give it to a green energy or green planting company to incentivize healthy environmental initiatives.
