I got smacked in the face and had my mouth washed out with dish soap when i got caught swearing. To this day i consider swearing lazy and ignorant, with limited exceptions. I don’t like to hear it from anyone, least of all children. I might have a small hypocrisy about women cussing too. Don’t you judge me! 😂😂
I know some people are like “They’re just words!”, but they’re usually full of sh*t cuz they are the same ones who come unhinged when you cuss at them.
I swear less than most adults i know and i think parents should teach kids not to swear, when they get done laughing because cussing kids is f*cking hilarious!
What are your thoughts on children who use foul language?

Unfortunately for me, my kids are at thr age where swear words are used with replacement words most times, but the intent is there. I rarely curse but my wife swears like a sailor (thats what you get when you marry a country girl I suppose).
I've found my son cursing and I don't like it, but we just warn him and send him in his way. I am not gonna smack him or use soap because I dont believe in that kind of discipline. Thankfully he doesn't do it often around us but im sure he does with his friends and there isn't much I can do to stop it other than to teach him how to be respectful to others.
See, punishment means you learned. Kids today don't get anything but talked to. they end up repeating and repeating until maybe they grow out of it... maybe.
It's bad, but I learned it from my dad. it's programming.
It's really lack of ability to express or handle emotion or disappointment in a more constructive way.
Cussing once something you didn't hear often changed dramatically during the 70's and forward. Today it seems (and I am no exception) we tend to say these words without giving much thought. The word "fuck" for instance which once was rare and deemed such a dreadful thing to come out of your lips is as common as ice cream today and it's with both men and women. There is so much swearing in movies and comedy today as well.
It depends on if they are responsible with it. Keeping it down when around adults. I cussed like a sailor but I was 16 or so before I cussed in front of mom and dad. Then it was only damn and shit.
It is valuable, but not essential, for children to learn to carry themselves with grace.
My kids are still not allowed to use swear words.
There are far worse things
Anyone using vulgarities shows a lower intellect.
