Yeah, people often confuse being unyielding, non-conforming with not caring.

If you don't care about something, you're usually not even aware of said thing. Neither is there motivation to say anything about it, if someone makes you aware of said thing. Aka: I don't care if it's now raining in Tokyo, and I don't know it too.

I do not like that "I don't care" is becoming short for "I get criticism, but I'll not listen to it at all." There is so many better ways to express that without saying nonsense - cause yes, you care.

Someone who gets stabbed will start wearing armor, but just because the sword doesn't penetrate doesn't mean you stop caring about the blade. It's the reason you are wearing armor after all
