Why do people obsess over others that they "hate" so much?

Being the hate is such a strong word, I have always thought to myself that if a person really despises another person or hates a certain group of people then they would not even mention them as much or quit speaking about them and acting as if they don't exist. That's has always been my ideal solution for someone who claims to "hate" a particular person or a particular group of people so much.

This question was inspired by a YouTuber who I know but don't follow but have heard his content who post nearly every video speaking very derogatively and negatively about black women and claiming to hate us so much in seeing how we are the worst group of people ever existed but cannot keep our names out of his mouth to save his life and nearly every video this person makes is constantly bashing us.

This is just like a bitter person who is obviously still in love with their EX husband/wife pool is constantly posting subliminals on social media and is always telling the world how much they hate their EX and how much of a horrible person they believe they believe them to be but they just refuse to quit posting about them online and speaking about them to other people?

Is it me or does this just sound weird?
