Why do people get aggressive towards people who genuinely care about them versus people who could give less of a shit about them?

Sometimes, how one person reacts or feels about a situation is different from what the person affected by it is experiencing. We tend to project our interpretation and feelings upon the situation even though it may not be the other person. When the affected person reacts negatively, or like HUH?, or hateful then we do not understand.

Sometimes they want to talk, sometimes they want to be left alone. People do not react to us like we think they should or even want them too, sometimes. Genuineness is important BUT if one can't tap the actual feelings of the other party then there will always be a negative, hateful, or totally disregarded reaction !!

Because people 'care' for different reasons. And even if you care about someone's good wellbeing, you can still appear suspicious. That suspicion makes people get 'defensive'. People can have aggression as defensive mechanism.
