I'm a Texas voter and Jasmine Crockett is my current House Rep. I love her fight, but am currently disappointed in her decision NOT to back Talarico for senate, we need every vote we can squeeze out to make sure Paxton is beaten.
My registration is active, checked it late last week, and thanks for the reminder. Do check it y'all there's still time to to remedy that suspense status if you catch it now.

@DryGermanGuy Bit of a mess there. There was a journalist that said that Talarico said something about Colin Allred being a mediocre black candidate, some things were flying around about that... those two and Crockett were all in the TX Hose of Representatives together so who knows their past. Then there was the controversy that made national mention about the Talarico interview with Stephen Colbert because it was moved to youtube instead of network tv (not to be confused with the recent Kimmel interview which got the same treatment). She got salty about that because it drew lots of attention to him during a heated primary... unfortunate at least. Then she lost to him. Who can say really, but she's making a show of supporting down ballot candidates instead and playing coy like it's not really about with holding support. I get being hurt by the loss, but we need to beat this slimy devil.

True, and consistent with previous midterms. It does take extra effort and delay to vote, which plays in to the Republican red mirage.

individual votes in America do not count, they are neutralized by district and the electoral college

it was actually jimmy carter. but these midterm elections aren't national but the senators do represent texas nationally so whether texas is a swing state or not actually doesn't matter. if talarico wins, thats one less senate seat for republicans and one more for democrats. but yes, for the presidential election, if you vote a certain way but the state as a whole votes the other way, essentially your vote doesn't count :(.. its why I've been always against the electoral college. its ridiculous

but even for lawmakers... they also vote and pass bills, laws as a block

not as a representative individual for my interests but as they are instructed by the party to do, and so, at the end of the day, the result is the same... once they win their seats wherever that is, they no longer represent our interests but those of their party and the lobbyists who paid their campaigns

and I do have a serious problem with that, always have... lol
