Joe Biden is telling the border patrol to cut the razor wire that Texas governor Abbott installed to keep illegal aliens out of his state. Gov. Abbott vows to resist and install more wire every time it is removed. The Texas National Guard may be used and there is a real danger of somebody getting killed.

Many other Governors are supporting Abbott and will send supplies and more razor wire to him.

Who do you side with, A governor who is using legal means to make his state more safe and secure or a president who is weaponizing federal law enforcement to open the border and let thousands of criminals into the country?

Gov Abbot is defending his state the failure of the Biden Administration to fulfil the duties imposed by Article IV, § 4 has triggered Article I, § 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense. For these reasons, he has already declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself. Well, while I greatly empathize with Texas about this, no, this is clearly unconstitutional under the Supremacy Clause of Article VI of the US Constitution. Specifically, states can’t use their own laws to keep federal agents from carrying out duties authorized by federal law.

This is likely why the Supreme Court issued an order vacating the judgment of the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit (Texas is in the 5th Circuit) in an emergency application in the case Department of Homeland Security v. Texas.

That said, I hope this case is not done and would like to see it argued in the Supreme Court because if Texas can make the case that the Biden Administration is failing to secure borders AND that the corresponding US Code is constitutional (or is actually in the Constitution), then that would be good also at dealing with the problem of border security.

However, back to the original statement, yeah, the razor wire is likely unconstitutional ALTHOUGH the Federal Government could put it in place, but not Texas, and Texas preventing federal agents from cutting the wire is definitely unconstitutional.

So, the questions are:
1. What constitutes an invasion?

2. Are illegal aliens invading?

If the judicial system finds that this problem does not constitute an invasion, but simply a border problem, then Art IV Sec 4 doesn't apply. HOWEVER, yes, the border states should continue to whine bitch and moan and get Congress and the President to do something about it because it is really a federal issue even though it is affecting the border states the most.

I agree. At the same time, we've never had secured borders.
What we really need is that the Federal Government be able to handle this overwhelming situation. In principle, everyone needs to be processed and the bureaucracy in place to handle that is currently insufficient.

But, this isn't a Biden-alone phenomenon. CONGRESS enacts the laws which the President vetos or approves. When it comes to the Federal Government, Congress needs to act to make the borders better or give the necessary funding or whatever.

... and, right now, Congress isn't doing anything and now won't. There was a deal in Congress this week, but Trump said he wouldn't support it and so the Senate is now backing off.

After all, why approve actual action to solve a problem when you need that problem to exist to piss off your voter base to energize them to vote for you to solve the problem that you're never going to solve?
It's the Republican way.
Look at abortion.
Now that Roe v. Wade is overturned (that is, a GOP "problem" they "solved"), they can't use "Overturn Roe v. Wade" as a rallying cry. Instead, it energized women voters to vote Democratic. That's a problem for the GOP this coming election just like it was in 2022.

Anyway, back to the illegal immigration problem...

Believe it or not, part of the problem stems from private property which is literally on the border. Unless you want the Federal Government to start taking (red state) voters' land via eminent domain, you're going to have a problem putting up a wall or doing other crap that's on private border land. At least Texas, with the razor wire, had a decent idea because, by putting it in the Rio Grande itself, no personal property is involved.

Biden and Mayorkas are breaking US immigration laws and not upholding the constitutional obligations to the people of the US. Biden is giving money to NGOs to hand out to the illegals. Each illegal gets $5000 that is provided by YOU (if you are a US Citizen). They get a cell phone. They get a plane or bus ticket to anywhere in the country. Meanwhile there are impoverished citizens in the US, many who are military veterans, who have never seen $5000. The children coming across can go to air conditioned detention centers and play XBox. How many US citizens kids in impoverished communities will never see an XBox? We need to rounds up ALL 10 million of them and drop them on the southern border of Honduras (regardless of where they came from) and tell Honduras to sort it all out with the 10 million new immigrants they now have. Honduras is on of the most Southern sources of these illegals. We could drop them all at the southern tip of Venezuela now that we are allowing them to ship oil to the US. We can tell them that they need to take the 10 million if they still want to be allowed to ship oil to the US; this would be their payback for allowing the oil to flow. It will take a while for them to get back to the US and when they do we ship them back out again.

If anyone here thinks differently, then leave you doors unlocked and we can send them to you house and they can live there and eat your food and use up your money instead of all our money. By the way, some of the illegals are known to cross, get the $5000 debit card, go back to Mexico and then cross again to collect another $5000. We should all start doing this.
