After enough time, people can learn and accept new names. However, was there any justification for issuing an executive order to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America? Then Trump signed an executive order renaming Lake Ontario “Lake America” for federal use on Thursday, August 27.

Now, President Trump has a suggestion for New Mexico: call it “New America.” The White House pushed the idea out on September 6, 2026. Democrats across New Mexico — along with the Republican running to lead the state — have rejected it.

Well, considering Latinos are always bitching about how America is a continent and not a country, Gulf of America actually sounds more logical and inclusive. But the rest are just moronic. And I thought he was gonna rename NM, West Texas. Either way, it's not gonna happened. Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario are trans-national waters and at least partly under federal jurisdiction, but NM is a state, so their own gov would have to change it, and that's never gonna happened.

I already knew in his first term that he's a narcissicist and pathological liar, but the man is REALLY starting to lose his mind, to the point that it's becoming concerning. I know he's doing it just to troll those countries, but it's so unprofessional and there are other concerning factors too, like changing his mind everyday, making threats then not following through, and releasing sensative information to the public
