Imagine you have this two buttons in front of you.
🔴 Button 1: End Everything
The world goes completely black. No more humans. No more animals. No future generations. No wars, no hate, no poverty, no sickness, no suffering… but also no love, laughter, friendships, families, music, memories, sunsets, or anything else.
Everything simply disappears. Forever.
🟢 Button 2: Fix The World
You press it and the world changes completely.
No wars.
No hatred.
No racism.
No bullying.
No abuse.
No extreme poverty.
No hunger.
No preventable sickness.
No cruelty.
No loneliness caused by society.
No fear of violence.
People still grow old and eventually die because death is still part of being human. But while they're alive, they get to experience a world filled with peace, love, friendship, laughter, nature, family and genuine happiness.
Nobody gets to live forever, but everyone gets a chance to live a much better life.
Now you're standing there with both buttons in front of you.
Which one are you pressing? 🔴 or 🟢
And more importantly, why?
Would you choose complete nonexistence because it means an end to all suffering, or would you choose an imperfect world where people still die, but get the chance to experience love and happiness before they do? ❤️🌎

You do know Button #1 has already been pressed, right? By the universe itself and the laws of nature. The universe ends in heat death. It's gonna take a while. About 10 to the 100th power years actually. But going dark is exactly what will happen when the universe reaches equilibrium and all thermodynamic work ceases.
So I guess if we're gonna be hanging around waiting for Button #1 to carry out its end game, I may as well push Button #2 and see what happens.
But contrary to your Pollyanna dreams of everyone singing Kumbaya by the campfire, I think human nature and about 60,000 years of precedent tells us we are inherently vicious, violent, and warlike as a species.
I would want to press the red one... because humanity does not deserve it
however... I would end up pressing green, because so many people actually deserve it, the world deserves it...
I would have no choice but to choose the green button. Even if I wanted to end myself, I would be an asshole to end everybody else's life.
💚 Obviously.
But since it's Practically impossible for it to sustain in that state forever..
🔴 that is a Pretty Good Solution
Button 2 . I do not dislike humanity enough to press Button 1.
Green button for me
