Some women make a really big issue out of getting married. Why is it so important?

I think there are different reasons. Some fall in love with the idea of a wedding and romanticise it a lot, others are materialistic so they want the ring and security, others just really dream of love and so they dream of their wedding all their lives, and then there are a few who live in cultures whereby there is a lot of pressure placed into the idea that if you don't marry and procreate you are not worthy of being a woman if that makes sense.

Personally it's not my first thought, I mean if it happens it will be lovely but what matters to me is finding someone who makes me happy regardless of all the frills.

there's always a display of courtship in nature. religious weddings are still a thing. but marriage at the elvis chapel and JoP are the same. it has to be recorded for someone's numbers in government. you are a statistic no matter what.

traditionally the females family pays for the wedding. if that's the case then i don't see a problem if they want to waste money. but as long as there isn't shit to take care of first. i knew this one guy. his sole purpose was to make money to give his "fiance" a wedding. he said it was important to the father. he said he met her online through facebook. she lives in the city over, but he rarely gets to see her. but this father demanding a $10,000 wedding doesn't like him because he doesn't make enough money. that daughter is just a broken meal ticket.
