Well , government helping their farmers will be as ( Socialism ) which farmers don’t like 🤔

I have conflicting thoughts on that issue. In general, I support a laissez-faire philosophy of government. However, if American ranches don't survive and we become dependent on foreign food sources, then we become depend on other nations and that could become a threat to national security.
@OlderAndWiser
The real question comes down to whether the Farmer's Union is manipulating production to drive up prices or is there truly an unintentional shortage. Judging by the outrage of farmers, I am more apt to believe the first.
US Govt should step in for small businesses, especially our small family owned farms that make a living off the land and have a deep culture in that region being cared for looked after over generations.
It would be a disservice and a disgrace to allow factory farms to not only buy out the smaller properties’ land like its Monopoly, but to also be allowed to lobby the govt to deregulate and deliver issues without accountability thanks to their power and influence not being checked in a Government System founded on checks and balances.
Its cruel.
Now besides it being vile and immoral, it helps the consumer with a greater diversity of items, goods, services provided by other outlets not in the mainstream.
Helps lower prices, make sure what you are consuming from the store is healthy, and it helps our fellow man rather than a heartless cold corporation wanting to buy up on the backs of the labor of the everyday man rather than give a little back. Less competition increases prices, just so everyone understands.
The US Govt is currently buying Argentinian beef which has already been recalled by the truck loads. It is in our best interest as a country to allow more independent small family farms to grow in a free market and to give them support against the corporate greed, plus fight the corruption that led to the broken system in the first place.
Yes it's socialism. I have no problem using the government to help protect the food supply or our economy.
But in this case, these cattle ranchers voted for Fascists to "Own The Libs" not realizing that those Fascists were gonna destroy everything with out regard to who they screwed in the process. And these ranchers fucked themselves.
In this case I say these miserable filth deserve to get exactly what they voted for, stupidity and incompetence. Let it rain down on these assholes. Let them lose their ranches and go bankrupt. We have plenty of other sources of inexpensive protein.
@OneViewpoint
100% agree
Many are started selling their ranches already.
They should apply for job to the new owner of ranch 😂
And those new owners are gonna be corporate agriculture. It has been going on for about 40 years. The ownership of the food supply has been becoming concentrated in the hands of a few corporations and these farmers and ranchers keep voting for the people trying to drive them into bankruptcy so they can take their land at pennies on the dollar. It's really hard to care about people who vote for their own abuse.
@OneViewpoint
Their own stupidity.
They didn't know that most dem politicians are good for farmers
Oh, and as you apparently are aware. We've had socialized supports for our agricultural industry in the USA since the 1940's. It's a top strategic concern for any country. What are we gonna eat tomorrow, LOL.
@OneViewpoint yes I know.
But they might not know lol
The current US government doesn't give two shits about cattle farmers. The plan is to replace live beef and eventually pork and chicken with lab grown meats. It was Project 2025, Bill Gates and other multi-billionaires who spearheaded Trump's policies that killed the farmers in the first place.
I would say that's not so socialism. Socialism would be the government giving beef producers tax money to prop up their insufficient supply. It's not true capitalism either though. What I actually think it is, is smart. If producers are having difficulty meeting demands, then opening up imports is a good way to offset consumer burden while the producers do what they need to do to catch up.
it's probably because us ranchers don't have enough cattle. this happens all of the time. it's the excuse they use to give the ranchers a bailout when it's not necessary. they just did the same thing for farmers.
Probably yes. I think its in governments and a countries best intrests to protect its own domestic industries. Look at Britain. They sold off almost all domestic industries and are now trying to bring them back. The last one is the steel industry, if it goes then steel companies will be able to charge what they want.
President Trump has enacted policies that help beef farmers by opening up new public grazing land and enacted Country of Origin labeling for foreign beef as well as allowing direct sales of beef. This is not just a handout but real help.
Remember, it's only socialism (communism, globalism, bla-ism) when the Democrats do it!
@DryGermanGuy
100% agree 😂😂😂😂
Socialism is government controlling the means of production. If the government controlled the means of production here, then that would be socialism and socialism is always bad.
Giant companies did good in fooling you guys lol
Can you explain what you're thinking?
MAGA farmers can sit in it. I thought they were going to get rid of all the brown people, make everything at home, and be perfectly happy? They got what they wanted. Let their farms close.
Well, I suppose it depends on whether or not the cattle farmers are Republicans or Democrats. After the shit that Trump has pulled, I imagine they are all Democrats, in which case I guess they don't get any help.
What did Trump do to these Democrat farmers?
It probably shouldn't be subsidized but it still is for the sake of tradition. Sometimes politics require a little socialism, I don't think anyone wants a pure capitalist state.
It's not socialism but it's government spending my tax dollars to fix a problem they created with my tax dollars.
We need deregulation, allow farmers to sell direct to consumers and eliminate barriers to entry for beef processing.
Sounds like socialism to me. But I guess the hypocritics will still take the money.
The government hurt the cattle farmers by having imported beef so yes they should help
Yeah, they should help. They can afford
Trump, Musk and Bezos should pay them. Musk doesn't need a trillion dollars. Most countries don't even have that much money
@KostasKouvalis
Musk and Bezos should never help them and they are private business men.
Why should they only help those and not others?
That BS
Because they have more money then they'll ever spend
@KostasKouvalis
They they should give to democratic small businesses too
It's socialism.
With Intel and US Steel, etc, the US seems to be getting all of the bad bits of socialism (economic lethargy by state ownership of the means off production) without any of the good bits of socialism (social safety net, like health care).
@Kelly6 I’m not sure
