Trending & News It's unfortunate that so much ignorance about viruses seems to be confusing to so many. Calling it BIRD flu makes folk think it is confined to BIRDS (but chicken pox is ignored as not being anything to do with chickens and everyone accepts that!!)
It's a virus and they CAN mutate to be able to affect other species of animal just as prions in the body systems of cattle affected humans who ate infected cattle products and ended up contracting CJD but the RW and other conspiracy nuts seem intent on making confusion rule so they can carry on with the conspiracies (until that dastardly mutation targets conspiracy theorists which the Russians or maybe the Germans perhaps even the Man from Uncle is responsible)
It will affect the Ranchers who have large herds that have a high stocking density get injected with antibiotics etc prophylactically the most just because of the confined space the herds are kept in and the formulated feed they are fed.
The Ranchers who have small herds that usually do not get injected with antibiotics etc prophylactically, they keep their herds at lower stocking density with natural grazing will be less affected.
When I lived in the US I bought the vast majority of meat I consumed from small Ranchers/Farmers just because they did not use drugs prophylactically, Also the eggs they supplied were produced they same way that is done in the UK/EU, deep clean bedding so eggs did not have to be washed as is standard in the US.
Yes, the USDA has stated that the beef supply is safe, but there is always the concern that a widespread outbreak could begin to effect the beef industry as well.
Food product speculation. It's against many laws but no one cares
Bird flu primarily affects birds, not cattle, and thus doesn't directly impact beef or dairy prices. The significant influence on egg prices stems from poultry being the host. In the USA, current concerns regarding beef and dairy are more likely driven by factors like feed costs, supply chain disruptions, or labor shortages. While it's always wise to stay informed about food supply trends, there's no immediate indication of bird flu affecting these markets.
Ignore the bot. Bird flu has been found in cattle herds across the USA. Quick note, cattle movement isn't as restricted in the USA as in UK nor regulations as stringent so numbers are probably higher. Trust me this is gonna get political and nasty real quick.
@purplepoppy yep... I'm sure Biden and Liz Cheney are at fault somehow... pffft

I take it you watch main stream news?
The man makes prices of whatever go up and the media makes up whatever so you pay more.
I like how a storm or whatever ruins a crop of xx vegie or fruit and the price goes up because they are hard to get but years later and the price never comes down again.
If you want to eat in the future start saving now.
Take all this with a grain of salt, tin foil hat replies are fun sometimes. All criticism welcome this was not a serious response.
I have no clue if bird flu is what's affecting the prices in beef. However, as someone who works at a meat market in the US, I can tell you what the prices were before January and what they are now..
(Keep in mind, this is just at my work place. I can not say the same for others)
Boneless beef ribeye - 21.99 to 22.99
Bone in ribeye - 22.99 to 28.99
NY strip steak - 19.99 to 21.99
Center cut filet - 32.99 to 34.99
(Per piece)
Bacon wrapped sirloin - 6.50 to 7.45
Bacon wrapped filet - 12.50 to 13.45
And for the others, I can't remember the prices before. As for the tomahawk ribeye, I know it's up to 50 a pound or more right now.
Who cares about beef and dairy prices when we've got the delicious imagery of birds and cows getting it on, spreading their flu in a filthy, primal dance? Just the thought of those feathery creatures co-mingling with our bovine beauties gets my dick harder than a bull's horn. I'm already halfway through choking the chicken, fantasizing about a world where animal diseases are nothing but an excuse for an orgiastic crossover.
Yes of course. But once again. But honestly.
How do we know it's even true? How do we know it's not the democrats? Putting their 2 cents in to make Trump look bad again... Maybe there is a bird flu. But in the past with everything that has happened, it always gets turned around and the democrats have something to do with it always. Beef prices here are out of this world. And it's just gonna get worse.
Especially especially since nobody knows what to believe anymore
HAH... that's news to me, AND the story gots legs...
Personally I would suspect that cheeky devil that "jumped" over the moon as a suspect in facilitating the crossover.
Anything at all having to do with disease / trying to supress is going to be a certified shit show since the people in charge are actively trying to supress numbers and info from CDC...
Beef prices have spiked 4 years ago and have not gone back down. I had a monthly delivery of steaks for a couple of years and the price was locked in. Now I am paying almost double. It is not because of the bird flu.
haven't seen that yet, but if that is the case, then you can plan on it going global.
It's one of the plauges of mankind. After this I'd expect earthquakes and volcanoes going off...
I live in Canada, and Burger King is encouraging you to buy chicken and fish instead of beef by lowering the price of their chicken and fish burgers in comparison to their beef burgers. Their burgers used to be priced the same.
I go into the countryside quite often, and I've not yet ( herd ) the cows chirping, so I don't think bird flu would affect the prices of beef etc.
Tell the virus to only affect things with beaks! It's made the jump to cattle at least two separate times.

Sorry, I'm jaded from all the idiots' responses to covid on here. It's spoiled my sense of humour.
German scientists have finally created the Eierlegende Wollmilchsau.

I heard that American cows don't fly.
Bird flew, or not.
But to make money by all means (the ''American Way'') I will expect that the topic is economically exploited.
Not affecting cows but Buffalo Wing supplies are severely impacted.
When certain billionaires are buying up the farm land making cattle farming a more costly endeavor I guess that's what happens..
Probability not yet, but it will likely in the future.
Funny how it's affecting cows but no birds are dying...
If it's really a bird flu there should be thousands of dead birds everywhere... but there's not
Beef is set to rise even further.
Bird flu in cows? The cows said moo way 😆
It effect poultry 🍗 farming 🧺
Not yet, but wait for the Full Trump Effect!
Yes it those birds who voted for Trump
Losers
