We all know killing is wrong, the question is, do we have the innovation and the soldiers we need to stop the killing? The number of soldiers in Canada is not big enough to fully stop every legitimate issue that deserves our attention because the number of war victims in the world exceed the entire population of Canada, and our western system has prioritized local concerns over allied concerns over others. It is not that Canada condones the killing, but Canada is too small to rescue every good person that needs their help.
First of all, the Quran doesn't say to kill everyone who doesn't believe in Islam. It literally says, "There is no compulsion in religion" (Quran 2:256). You can't force someone to accept a religion.
The people doing these things are 5-IQ radical extremists. I have no idea how they justify their actions. They're an absolute disgrace to humanity.
Taqiya means hiding your religious beliefs to protect yourself when you're being persecuted or threatened because of your faith. It's not directly mentioned by name in the Quran.
Jizya, on the other hand, is mentioned in the Quran.
Quran 9:29:
"Fight those who do not believe in Allah or the Last Day, who do not consider forbidden what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, and who do not follow the religion of truth, among those who were given the Scripture, until they pay the jizya with their own hands while being humbled."
Now, if we leave taqiya aside, there does seem to be a contradiction between this verse and Quran 2:256. 🤷♂️
Islamic scholars explain it by saying that making non-Muslims pay a tax isn't the same as forcing them to convert to Islam. Apparently, the Ottoman Empire had a similar system, but people were still allowed to practice their own religions.

But I can't really say there's no contradiction between those two verses, especially because of the word "fight" in 9:29. If you're fighting someone until they pay, you're still forcing them to do something. So I can't give you a clear answer on that. Yeah, depending on how you look at it, you might have a point.

I think Islamophobia is way over the top, and some Westerners use it as an excuse to make racism seem acceptable. Now, I'm not saying Muslim countries are perfect. A lot of them have failed to develop and made some really stupid choices.

I said context. The verse is talking about self defense. It says to fight those who fight you. Of course, if you take one sentence out of context and ignore the rest, you can make it sound like it's telling people to kill everyone.

And yet, the Dajjaal is said to offer peace. So what am I supposed to do? Offer peace and be considered the antichrist? Jesus claimed to be the only way to heaven. Does that make Jesus the Dajjaal?
