Lady Jane Grey became the Queen of England after Henry VI died, but for only a few days. She was overthrown. Awful times.
It was all about power and security and can ruin relationships... greed, selfishness, assumptions, beliefs.

Writing wills is part of what I do for my job, so of course I have a will for myself.
I will exclude family members who pissed me off in may last will or testament how it's called here. A little surprise I will enjoy in afterlife.
On the other hand there is a "forced share" law in my country that gives even excluded inheritors right for small financial compensation but this is minimal 8-10% of real estate value. Maybe law changes until then and they get nothing because they will deserve nothing.
yikes. sorry to hear that.
Interesting on the law, the UK?
It's just hypothetically, until now no one deserve such treatment but I'm willing to perform such cruelties without any remorse if necessary.
I'm from Poland.
that's right, I remember you now. Sad to hear, family is most important. hope can work it all out.
how are things in Poland these days?
My parents didn't have a will and the probate took like 3 years to finalize. It was a god damn nightmare. It was peak covid19 times slowed things down but a game plan would have helped.
Talk to your loved ones and get something accross because we all have to go at some point.
Ultimately my relationship with my brother fell apart because of this inheritance. I baby him as reasonably as I could because he was younger and had to grow up faster then I did on my own terms. Both of us Got half a million but he didn't want to work and ran out in 5 years living in the old family house to expensive for him. He went to a $340,000 house to a $15,000 trailer park in the deep south.
He still thinks im an asshole telling him to get a job and invest.
A will won’t prevent drama if drama is in your family’s nature. A will isn’t iron clad. No court document is, in the US. ANYTHING can be challenged in court and probate court is every bit as corrupt and inept as any other. A will is a lot like a prenup. It only holds up if everyone involved completely agrees with the terms therein. If someone disagrees, they hire a lawyer, challenge the documents and tie everyone else up in court for years. The goal is usually to test everyone else’s patience long enough to get them to agree to new terms. If everyone is patient and steeled, the goal is ultimately challenging the veracity of the will itself.
Maybe when im older. If I die my husband gets anything I have and vice versa.
As far as I remember after the death of king Edward VI. Lady Jane Grey was named by Edward VI as his heir, heavily influenced by John Dudley, 1st Duke of Northumberland who basically ruled the country from when Edward was a boy and intended to continue through 16 year old Lady Jane Grey bypassing the succession and will of Henry 8th. The next in line was catholic monarch Mary 1st. Mary was 36 when she took the throne, 37 when she married Philip 2nd of spain. At that time England became part of the worlds most powerful empire the Spainish empire and Holy Roman empire but mary being prevented from marry for over 20 years was unable to produce an heir.
One of the reasons they refused to allow the English throne to usurped is because people still remembered the wars of the roses where the crown was usurped, usurped again, usurped again and usurled for a 4th time over 32 bloody years.
good history, I'd like to understand better the thinking. Somehow Henry got on her side but others wanted to appease the other countries to save themselves. so they effectively had her killed.
Yes when start out in life don't have much usually, so not too complicated.
A lot of others tried to force her to surprise the crown to use her. Being close to the crown meant wealth and power.
we all have in advance...
apparently, previous generations almost went to war over these things... lmao
Nope. F*** them! They can fight with the gov't about it. I really could care less what happens to my assets after i'm gone at this point. I'm on to bigger and better things. Besides, God will take care of them, right?
I am embarrassed to say that i do not have a will , My wife does not want to deal with our mortality.
@lightbulb27 I have a Trust Fund... wills are useless and can be contested.
An ironclad will and a living trust. You can't stop all the shenanigans, but you can stop most of them.
Yeap
