Have done this more than once. It's a headache to deal with. But, the purpose is to help others in the family. She realize that? It's a headache... even when it's well planned.

Nobody wants to think about the inevitable.

it's really being considerate, and much better to iron out while the brains are working well and everyone healthy. not to mention those documents the hospital needs to make decisions. If they don't have them, they will try to keep ya alive when it may not really be such a great idea... and wipe out everyone.

Yes, I went through this with my mother. When she got too old to make decisions I had to get a lawyer get me power of attorney. It was not what I wanted
