How do you feel about leaving all your riches to your kids in a will?

This is the way it should be, I will have worked all those years to help give them the best life even after I'm gone

I don't like the idea of giving them all my riches, but enough to where they can be comfortable

I'm leaving them nothing. They need to learn the value of earning/saving on their own. Handing them free money only builds useless adults who won't ever amount to much.

I would rather leave all my riches to their kids. I feel like it's better to pass it on that way

Grandkids: Some is going into trust for when the youngest grandkid reaches 21 then ALL of that 30-35 years of compound interest will be dispersed EXCLUSIVELY to the grandkids, NOT for their spouses to share (it's a specialized trust, I forget the names and mechanics of it). I hope it's enough to give them the leg up we never had. We also have separate EXCLUSIVELY college investments for the grand kids too.

Kids: The real estate or proceeds of are all theirs. Straight away evenly divided. The life insurance payouts are going to TOD to investments we haven't decided what or how long yet but the real estate proceed should be more than enough until we come up with a timeline and investment for them to get the life insurance.

We plan on living off of our 403b investments and the proceeds from the house as well as social security and our pensions. So the proceed from the house sale MAY be run down in our lifetime

Nieces & Nephews: We started a 529 fund for all of them when they were born. We've been making MODEST payments into it for 25 years for my oldest nephew and 15 for my youngest niece.

I would like to say that it takes money to make money, transportation & food & education & healthcare & others are all impacted by money and if you lack those funds you will never be able to get a successful job.

Shaquille O'Neille does a hybrid model of inheritance for his kids. They have to fulfill his requirements to access his support. He also modifies his expectations based on the gender of the child. I heard Tom Hanks disinherited one of his kids cause they would not get their addiction under control and their demand was there would be no inheritance for them unless they could quit drugs.

I believe Bill Gates might also operate on the conditional model of inheritance where they access a higher level of privilege from him if they achieve more in their lives cause Bill loves his kids too much to disinherit them but his kids would not work so hard if they had no pressure at all to succeed in life through personal effort and sacrifice due to an unchangeable gift in his will.

I believe it's important for my kids to find their own way in life. They need to learn gratitude for the things they have, work ethic and discipline. But at the end of the day, when I die, I would want everything to go to them.

My Will has most of my material possessions going to my wife, with a smaller percentage to my kids, and some fixed donations to some charities.

My issue would be if I were rich and I have 0 kids (and seeing how women don't love me), no one would inherit it. I kind of wonder what'll happen with my riches.

I have my sister's as the primary beneficiaries. I would imagine at least some of it will end up filtering down to thier kids. Frankly after they recieve it it's thier money. I really don't care what they do with it.
