If a man dies without a will, and his widow refuses to relinquish sentimental items to his children, what are their options?

Items such as guns (he bought), pictures, and war medals (family heirlooms). We have asked for them, and she evades saying she isn’t ready to move on.

She also has had the whole house wired with cameras for years with sound. She has also started dating again not 2 months later…yet isn’t ready to move on 🙄

I have looked online on attorney advice webpages and they say that in MI, there isn’t much an attorney can do for sentimental things without titles. They suggest appealing to her humanity…

Any specific script/advice you might suggest that may work in this situation?
