100% it should be banned. AI is getting out of hand in almost all areas of our lives, but the use if them in political ads has become a genuine problem that can ruin someone's life similar to a false rape accusation. They can nearly make AI ads that the uneducated masses will consume and believe wholeheartedly.

Honestly, it's not too much different than politicans lying about their opponent verbally, but having photos or fake video of someone just feels more damning to me.

  A Kentucky Rep recently lost his house seat partly due to an AI ad (voters admitted it influenced their vote). It's not just photos and videos, it's also fake audio which can be harder to spot then pictures and video.

  FCC should ban it, and it should be banned because AI has gotten to the point it's difficult to tell the difference between an actual video and an AI generated video.

  Voters are gullible idiots, Kentucky is a good example, post primary election, a lot of voters admitted an ad that was made using AI images/video influenced their vote.
