Didn't pay attention in History/Civics class? That's because of the same movement that supported ignorance and still does.

It is Theodore Roosevelt.

Former President Roosevelt split off from the Republican party and ran on the Progressive/Bull Moose ticket, and enabled Woodrow Wilson to defeat, William Howard Taft, winning the presidency. Wilson if the founder of a movement that created today's Democrat-Socialist movement.

Ross Perot did the same to George HW Bush giving us Slick Willie.
