Reasons you delete someone from Facebook?

Question

This girl who is just a friend of mine has suddenly deleted me this morning and I have no idea why. We haven't had a fight or anything, in fact we were talking about her 18th birthday just yesterday!

I've tried to text her and she hasn't replied, I sent her a message on Facebook and still nothing. I know for a fact I've done nothing to upset her, this is just weird...

Girls, what are the reasons you delete someone because right now I'm 100% lost...

thats really odd..the only time I deleted a guy I loved was when he was rude disrespectful playing games used me led me on toyed with my heart etc etc no regrets because he was so mean to me for 3 years in school!

i also deleted blocked my guyfriend (platonic) because he was an ass to me too...he would put me down and would interfere in my friendships and then leave me out of my friend groups, id introduce him to my friends and the next thing you know theyre hanging out and all tight and I'm left out? what am I a matchmaker networking agent? he was just a jerk...so I never talked to him again no regrets.

but in this case if you don't hear from her within a week try to find her in person and ask her if everything is okay? and ask her what have you done? most imprtantly ask her if she's okay did something happen etc

but I think you need to add more details like what's the 'friendship' like between you two? are you platonic or what? does she have feelings for u? do you have feelings for her? did you tell her she's like a sister when may be she liked u? it can be a lot of things...

I don't talk to the person anymore is usually the main reason for it. When I first got Facebook about five or six years ago, I added every person I knew who had Facebook, or I went to High School with because I was excited about the whole social networking thing. I thought it was cool to reconnect with some of these people I hadn't seen for two or three years. In fact there are times when I do that now. However, I've deleted half those people from my list since then because either we never talked but just added each other, or haven't talked since the electronic reunion. I just don't see the point in having someone on there that I haven't talked to in ages. I feel it's the same as adding a stranger, because we really are strangers now.

The last person I removed that was actually was a friend I see a lot was because they had to many status updates. It's one of the reason I never liked twitter. I do not care if you are taking a sh*t, and so you do not need to document your whole life in the internet. I haven't really deleted anyone who has pissed me off though.

Sometimes you just get people doing that because for whatever reason they can't take much of what you post on your wall (that's what's happened to me I guess and I just say what I want and speak my mind), it's really not your fault if she actually did delete you and it's not a glitch, just people can't take it these days when you don't say what they want you to say, you know the usual cliche stuff like how awesome your body is or showing off about something for attention? lol.

I never really bother checking my friends no more though as well... if they wanna delete me that's cooll as they never cared in the first place.

I no longer have FB, but when I did, I have been deleted on a few occasions for the following reasons:

-One told me Facebook was "personal" and she didn't know me (we went out over 7 times). basically changed her opinion about me over a few things I texted. She later blocked me. I think it made her feel good about herself or something- there was absolutely no reason to take it that far. Some people make themselves feel good and create scenarios that are way off. This happened to me.

-Two (or more, idk) deleted me out of the blue. I'm pretty sure it was because they both liked me but nothing ever came of it. We never formally dated and plus we hadn't talked in a long while due to not having class together anymore. They probably just thought that door had closed so to speak.

I deleted my intended when she told me that I was no longer allowed to look at the photo's she posted online or put "Likes" on her status updates.

Her mentality was that I had put a 'like' or comment on all of her status updates (Facebook records show that I didn't). Yet she was insistant, to the point of being manic, that I was not to see nor post on her profile.

This of course, didn't stop her, from making cold-hearted comments on my profile when I posted a new status update with positive intentions. Nor stop her from browsing my photo albums at her leasure.

I delete people on the following criteria:

1- I don't recognize your face/name anymore

2- I can't remember how I met or know you

3- I don't think I'll ever possibly have a reason to contact you again.

4- You added me on the basis that we went to the same high school, but that's it

5- All of your FB posts are negative, and appear 15 times a day.

6- You use FB as a spam platform for the political party/whatever you shamelessly promote every waking moment of the day.

7- Least common reason-- You have done something/behaved such that you genuinely piss me off in a long term way.

Exceptions are as follows:

A- You're vaguely in the same career path, and thus might be a contact point one day.

B- Your life is just really interesting. AKA- you post really interesting/ not-annoying things

There have been a few people who've randomly cut me off from fb. Even people I'd talk to occasionally for seemingly no reason. I've given up trying to understand way, its fb, not worth it.

The only reason why I would delete anyone off my Facebook is if they have insulted me or made some remark against me that goes to such a extent that the friendship has ended. I have no idea why this girl would do that if you have been talking. Are you sure you have't said anyone offensive to her or on your FB? It could be that she saw something on FB about you and felt offended (although this is really far fetched) or she's just immature and sees no point in the friendship. Either way, you can't help it so don't dwell on it too much.

1. That person may be annoying me & won't stop

2. I don't need a bad person in my life (if they're talking bull)

3. People who you add but turn out to be creepers or pervs (but didn't expect them to be obviously)

4. Person doesn't even talk to me (probably just wants a lot of friends but doesn't talk to them at all)

It could be just a glitch Facebook has from time to time - I've defriend people and vice versa because Facebook was glitchy. She could be busy with issues at the moment and that's why she's not answering.

Just give it time, you will most likely figure out things from her side soon enough

I delete people if they're statuses are never happy. Like, if they're complaining in every status. Or if they're bad-mouthing people in their statuses. Also if there's a lot of explicit language in the majority of what they say or comment, etc. I don't mind cussing, just don't see the point of the "my life so sucks" every day.

I don't f***ing know. I wonder the same thing. This chick I know randomly deleted me (I thought I might have accidentally deleted her on Facebook mobile) but I sent her a message and re-added her and nothing so... oh well. Nothing I can do about it.

No idea why she would do that, I don't do things like that so I wouldn't know. The same stuff has happened to me and I still have yet to figure it out. Sorry man.

i know!

just a month back a guy blocked me on fb. we used to talk every other day about various issues. most of the time he was the one to initiate the chat. one day I decide to check his posts so I try to go to his profile and he is nowhere to be seen. I thought he deleted his a/c but later I saw his profile through a friend's acount. so weird! just no idea why this happened. anyway I didn't care so I didn't ask the person for a reason. you have already messaged her so let it be now.

Probably an accident. Or she chickened out or fears something.. All in all, you shouldn't really dwell on it though..it'd just make you go crazy.

By the way, I usually delete someone on Facebook when they update their status too much and they're all annoying updates...

Maybe you creeped her out a bit. Something must've tripped her off in that way. The text and Facebook message on top of it was not smart either. I would never say anything if someone deleted me off Facebook.

I delete people I don't talk to, am not talking to and will never talk to in the coming years.. and frankly I won't talk to them much if I had the chance again. just basically people I don't like/ will never keep in touch with given the chance. I've deleted a guy off cause he was still "chasing" me and leaving messages on my Facebook wall. I just got really irritated and disgusted and deleted him.

There's not a lot but I will delete people if:

- I've only talked to them once and never since

- I hate the statuses they post

Also at the end of the school year, I'm deleting almost everyone from my high school (starting fresh)

i delete people when it gets to the point when I know I will never talk to them again or when their statuses become so depressive all the time that I don't want them on my newsfeed.

Maybe she has a boyfriend that you don't know about that told her to or she is going through a hard time and wants to be left alone. The reasons are endless. Just leave her alone and see if she even remembers you...

I really only delete people for a couple reasons. If we are enemies I delete them or if they post stupid or ignorant crap I delete them.

Same thing happened to me, when one of my best female friend has deleted me from face book, because I was trying to sending her too much messages, another reason was that I was available whole time on face book when she get login

I can only think of two reasons,

1) I found out something this friend said that offended me or another friend of mine and now I do not wish to be part of there friendship any more.

2) someone is spreading rumors and all arrows point to that person
