Is being wise attractive?

I am 18 years old and I find myself getting along with older people a lot more than I do with people my age.

I do get a long with them but when I talk to an adult who I just met, after I talk to them they end up telling me that I am very wise for my age...The topic can be about anything really. And they tell me that I'm smart and "too wise" for my age.

Is that good or bad? Do guys find that attractive? :P I feel like I'm a 30 year old woman inside of an 18 year old girl.

I do have fun still, I don't act like a boring person...so I don't know what to think of it lol

Intelligence is always attractive, these days the whole dumb ditsy girl stereotype is well on it's way out. A lot of men want intelligent girls so they can have and hold intelligent conversations with them. Not only conversations but perhaps talk them out of doing stupid things or making stupid decisions since every needs someone to do that :P

Maturity is often a huge attraction not just in terms of dating but in general as well. A mature person is more likely to be noticed since they (typically) can handle a variety of situations where judgement and or decision making is needed. In other instance your intelligence will allow you to be creative, maybe you'll be able to surprise your significant other weather it be on his (or her) birthday or something much more intimate. Being intelligent at a young age also can as you have seen get you noticed by older people. More often then not those people have experience in life or maybe even a profession. Knowledge is power and is very valuable as is experience, especially with how human society is structured.

Being intelligent at a young age is advantageous over time, as you become older you'll become that much more intelligent. Intelligent people are always in high demand in the job market for things like problem solving. I personally find intelligent women attractive and I also enjoy a really good conversation, especially when you are able to create random witty jokes. :)

Wisdom and intelligence go hand in hand, can't form one properly with out the other, the two terms are also interchangeable with each other just like speak and talk.

It's two different thing, whether how different is determined by the individual. Intelligence is a skill or god given gift of quickly understanding a thing and having the high capacity to understand that thing. While wisdom deals with experience and ethics. Computers may be intelligent but they are not wise. People may be wise but not necessarily intelligent.

Oh, I know how you feel! Talking with older people always felt so much more natural. When talking to people my age in High School, it felt like all I was hearing from them was an amorphous blob of judgmental BS. If it wasn't that, it was talking for hours about a specific band or football team I didn't know of. It seems like the older you get, the more broad the topics become. Stuff like science, politics, opinions, feelings, etc.

Is that an attractive trait?

Well, let my answer this way: The only guys who would find something like that unattractive are guys you really wouldn't want to be around, anyway.

I'm sad sometimes to see women and girls judging themselves based on only what the most talkative guys say.

Let me demonstrate it clearly:

-The only guys who really talk consistently to each other about boobs are more on the perv side.

-Pervs like big boobs.

-So the only thing about boobs girls hear is how much guys like them big.

-Next thing you know, girls are getting boob jobs left and right for their 16th birthdays.

-They attract the pervs.

-They end up thinking all guys are pervs.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

So do me a favor and do yourself a favor, and don't question an obvious virtue because you're worried it might turn off a few guys. The only thing you're doing is turning off guys who aren't right for you.

Same goes for guys on here, too.

Wisdom is very attractive, in my opinion, and it's incredibly rare these days. While I find many different types of girls to be attractive, I can't imagine a future with one unless she's wise as well. I, too, have always had people tell me that I am very wise and intelligent as well, and while I have a very youthful sense of fun, I also get caught up in deep conversations and ponderings as well. So, yeah, I completely understand where you're coming from and I can relate. When you're as young as you are yet, it can be a bit frustrating trying to find others of your own age who can relate to you. Eventually, you'll catch up physically to your maturity level and it won't be so bad, though. Plus, in the adult world, the whole age-thing becomes a bit fuzzy, so all you'll need to really focus on is finding someone who matches your maturity level.

My current problem, though, is somewhat opposite of yours: I am 32, but people think I'm 18 based on my appearance! ;D Well, I guess you can't win 'em all... lol

Yeah, just remember, while it may get lonely being the only wise one your age in the room, don't give in to the temptation to try to "fit in" by sinking to their level. You'd end up doing things you might regret and hating yourself for not being true to yourself. Hold out for others like yourself: you're worth it! :)

An intelligent girl is a sexy girl. If a girl is to be my girlfriend, she HAS to be intelligent. Wisdom is like maturity mixed with intelligence and that's attractive. Good to know there are girls out there like you, don't change and don't feel weird.

Intelligence is definitely an asset! It is attractive, certainly. A 18 year old girl who is intelligent, witty, and full of wisdom really stands out.

But the problem with some intelligent people is that they think their smarts is the main factor to attracting other people. Make sure you don't only connect with the other person mentally, but on an emotional level as well. Express your wisdom through your humor.

It's attractive in the sense that it has long term value. It won't necessarily get you any "action" at a single moment, but it will attract a higher level of mate for you over time.
