I absolutely hate it! It doesn't look attractive at all.

I was on Facebook a few weeks ago and on my status update I said "Why do girls take pictures with duck lips and their tongue out? Is that supposed to be attractive..?" It was a real question and I got a ton of likes on it. But there was this girl who commented "If you have a problem with it you know where the unfriend button is!". She was one of the girls who took every picture like that. I just commented back saying "They can do whatever they want but I just think it looks better when they smile instead of doing some weird thing with their mouth." Then she was like "Well maybe they think it's cute so just leave us alone!" Yeah everyone though she was being really bitchy there..

i don't know I never did that I just smile normally and stay classy, but I find a lot of the party girls do that to show off theyre hot, and are full of themselves. I remember the guy I liked in college, his female friend had like over 2,000 photos of herself on Facebook and at least 1,900 were all duckface, made me question what kind of grls he hangs out with -_- turned out he was an ass so I'm glad I didn't get with him.

i think its actually bad for your skin to do that, causes premature wrinkles/smile lines...just saying..

Personally I don't do it.

As people below me have said it makes the lips look fuller but it also brings out the cheekbones, making the person look thinner.

I think it started from models/celebrities doing it and people copying. Then it became a 'thing'

If hot girls do it, it's at least cute. It's hard not to look cute when you're hot... Any girls hating on it are just jealous, granted it would be preferable if girls just smiled and took a nice picture.

The only unattractive thing about the duckface is the immaturity and fakeness that generally goes along with the girls that do it, not the act itself.

Sometimes I do it just to be silly. I know people hate it, hence the reason I do it, to take a dumb picture. Why is sticking your tongue out attractive, or being shirtless, or making a complete straight face? It's just a damn pose for a picture..people have not only jumped on the bandwagon of doing the duckface, but most have hopped on the bandwagon of hatred towards the duck face. Lighten up about it..most girls KNOW people hate it yet they still do it because it's a silly picture! Why that's so hard to comprehend I don't know.

I'm not trying to look sexy..I'm just taking a dumb picture because I can.

i think it's because it's supposed to look silly. girls make silly faces in pictures all the time. you'll notice the age old 'sticking your tongue out' silly photo. it's just a new silly face that has come out with this generation of kids. it's a pose that makes your lips look fictitiously bigger, to a point where it becomes silly. that's how I see it anyways, I've never done the pose myself, and I never judge the girls who do it either.

Because it makes out lips look fuller and supposingly guys are supposed to find full lips attractive. They actually do the same with models in photoshopped just to a much lesser extent so it doesn't look stupid
