Why do guys treat girls like trophies?

well if he is talking to you it means that like you're his prize.. I would take it as a good thing if he's talking to you because it means he wants to win you over so you like him

if he is talking to his friends, then it is his "guyness" kicking in. when he is with his friends and talking about girls, it's not usually who has the best personality (unless he's talking about a potential girlfriend), but who is the hottest.. keep in mind I used the word usually.

so yeah if he said it to you take it as a compliment, but if he said it to his friends think of it as him adding another girl to his collection

i don't think men treat women like trophys, I think just the fact that we already know were winners inside proves that you're not a trophy, and that you're not to BE WON

Why? Because usually, being a dick to women gets them laid. It's all about presenting a challenge.

On the other hand, as dave said, it reveals their insecurity. If you have confidence in yourself, you don't need to bag a 'trophy' to feel worthwhile.

I disagree with the other answers. Like everything in life you take it how it comes. If you have to play games to get someone, the relationship likely isn't going to work (how often does it really)? But it doesn't sound like this guy really wants you for you. It is just the idea of being able to get you and have you get with him that appeals to this guy more than anything.

Yeah "winning a girl over" and all that is fine but it just feels in this context its more for his satisfaction.
