Are successful career women more attractive to men?

I don't care if a woman is successful in her career or not. It is neither a turn on or a turn off. A lot of women I have talked to seem shocked that I don't find them more desirable because of them having a successful career. Some of them accuse me of wanting to lock a woman in the kitchen but that isn't true. I want her to help with bills but any job will do. So I was wandering if I am alone in not caring about what a woman does while she is at work, or if these women were just mistakenly thinking this would make them a more attractive partner, because they like guys with successful careers.

Please be don't be rude to either gender. I am actually wanting to know if it is just me or not. I have no intention of starting another gender war on here.

I am attracted to career women, or as a girl believe men are more attracted.

I am less attracted to a career woman, or as a girl believe men are less attracted.

I don't care at all what a woman does for a living, or as a woman I don't think guys care about a woman's career.

This reminds me of a joke.

A man is deciding which woman he's going to choose to be in a relationship with. So, he asks all three girls the same question: "If I gave you $1,000,000, what would you do with it?"

The first girl says, "I would go get by boobs done, and some lypo, and maybe a nose job, and then pick out sexy clothes and shoes so I can look hot and sexy next to you all the time."

The second girl says, "I would go back to school and become a doctor, so I could save lives and make a difference in this world, and so I wouldn't just be stuck at home all day, and so you wouldn't feel like all the stress of taking care of the family was just on you."

The guy realized that each girl gave a really good answer. He had a tough decision to make, but at the end of the day, he just pick the girl with the biggest t*ts.

The male penis could care less about a woman's socio-economic status. Unfortunately, it's the male penis that chooses who the guy is attracted to, who he will date, and who he's going to have a relationship with. I think more and more men are using their brains now days, which is a good thing.

Unfortunately, though, men don't really place as high a value of material things, so their partner's financial resources or potential earnings are not of much value to men. In other words, they can't really compensate for lack of looks. That's not true across the board. For example, in the orthodox Jewish community, looks obviously don't matter (as evidenced by the wedding photos). But religion and conservative communities aside, by in large, money isn't going to make up for lack of good looks for women.

Many women seem to find successful men more attractive.

Men do not seem to factor her success into attractiveness.

Men may intellectually prefer a partner with more money.

Men appear hesitant to pursue women who earn more then they do. It's not clear whether they don't like it or anticipate being less successful in pursuing them.

it depends on the guy. guys care more about looks, so if you had to choose a successful career woman who was a 5/10 and a less successful woman who was an 8 then they'd go with the cutest one.

but if both girls are equally attractive, I think they'd go for the successful woman because she has more money. guys like to say they don't care about how much $$ a girl has, but will be the first to call women gold diggers if she wants him to help support her lifestyle. a career woman with more money wouldn't need his support as much as a girl with a less lucrative job, so I think if a guy is thinking long term this would matter more. unless he was the traditional type of guy who didn't mind taking care of a woman financially.

That is very interesting. Because I am a career woman, and I find that I intimate guys (I seem to find more blue collar than white collar men) It's difficult to find a man that accepts the fact that I may make more money than he would. I end up playing down my title in the first or 2 dates.

A man's job description isn't a means of attraction for me, so I don't blame you for disregarding a woman's career either.

While I wouldn't say I don't care at all what a woman does for a living (I wouldn't wanna be with a prostitute or stripper or so because what she does for a living doesn't align with my values for sex), I definitely don't care for the most part. As long as the girl isn't SO career focused she's going to be a terrible mate and ignore the relationship.

I want a girl I have a seirous relationship with to be responsible and have a job. I also want her to be aware enough and intelligent enough to realize that our lifetimes are limited, so she should be rationally motivated to make something of her life.

That's not quite the same as saying I want her to be a career woman, but there's a lot of overlap.

love shouldn't be about promotions. I don't care if a guy is successful,that doesn't mean I want to make him become a house husband

I understand. I am not talking of turning someone into a housewife. It just they seem genuinely surprised that I am not any more attracted to a woman with a successful career over any other type of job. They acted like I was not normal so I thought I would get some other peoples views on this. Thanks for your answer. :-)

or if he's masculine he'll be ok/happy with successful women?
