Its become clear that all the best current boxers are now white especially heavyweights, a complete turn around from the Muhammad Ali era and 80s and 90s. It started in the 2000s with the unstoppable Klitschko brothers. Tyson Fury is considered to be the best current heavyweight. Recent victories of Povetkin over Whyte and Usyk over Chisora further illustrate this. Where are the great black boxers of older like Lenox Lewis, Riddick Bowe, Evander Hollyfield, Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Buster Douglas, Rasimhan Hackman, Oliver McCall, Ray Mercer, Biggs, Rudduvk, Bruno, Micheal Moore, Larry Holmes of the pre Klitschko era and that's just the heavyweights. Peters, Shannon briggs and fast eddy Chambers are too old and Wilder looks like he will never recover from his first defeat leaving only Anthony Joshua who is ducking Fury just like he ducked Wilder and he put in bad performances against Ruiz and Klitschko. Wladamir Klitschko just out matched by Joshua's youth and needing a rematch after Ruiz knocked him out.
I never followed pro boxing (unless fights were on in bars), but I boxed some when I was younger, oh the many many times I went into the ring and wondered why I was looking at the ceiling. Those knockouts come quickly when they do.
Anyway, training and gear is expensive. Hospital bills add up as even small splits and what not you don't want to get infected. Those visits also make sure you're in peak shape, and even slightly battered that you can get back in and train if not take half force half speed punches for some out of the ring sparring.
One big thing that's changed when I looked it up that may be a big source of there being less and less black boxers would be Don King declining significantly in his role as a promoter. He isn't on the list of 25 most influential (or wealthy) promoters anymore, I mean, he's like 90 now, so that makes sense.
No he isn't the next great black boxer he got beat by a fat guy Ruiz, compared to actual black boxers that were great he couldn't even tie their shoe lacessation, tyson fury deffo is but in my opinion heavyweight boxing has been shit since the days of Lennox lewis etc , the klitschkos were overrated I mean they never thought anyone great and one can't beat by a fat tyson fury
I dont think the Klitschkos were operated, the cleaned out Lewis's contemporaries and there was few capable of rising to the challenge after that. They were just to big and powerful for most.
They aren't heavyweight greats ali Lewis tyson cooper wouldve ate the klitschkos for breakfast they thought the best heavyweights in history , klitschkos fought nobodies really in my opinion
Lewis struggled against a very young vitali when he was in his prime. Cooper has a lot of defeats and never won a world title. Tyson rarely if ever fought guys that were bigger, skillful, fast and powerful. The only one I can think of was Lewis. Muhammed Ali arguably could have beat anyone in his prime. Look at the George Foreman fight, he let Foreman punch himself out with the rope a dope, then he tried the same thing on Ron Lyle who didn't fall for so he just outboxed and took him apart in the ring which was major as Ron Lyle was a big tough hard hitting puncher like Foreman, knocked Foreman down a few times.
True. But thats why he was the greatest of his era, though I think it was him that started that trend were champs dont for 12-18 months. You can't fault the klitschows. There were some good fighters they beat like Eddie Chambers, Samuel Peters, Chris Byrd, David Haye, Hasim Rahman, Sultan Ibragimov, Povekin, Tony Thompson, Rey Mercer, Shannon Briggs, Chisora, Danny Williams etc. Al ot of men who lewis would have fought of hed continued or men he had fought.

Boxing success is more about the gym and trainers, than the boxers themselves. The trainers and gyms put up whoever displays good potential, race is little to do with anything.

from what I remember old school "white" boxing was irish italian often Spanish etc. Now most good white boxers are either from northern Europe or eastern Europe. Tyson is from the UK and a lot of guys are from areas like lithuania or russia
Fury has mental health issues so the longer this goes on the more likely they are to emerge like it did with the Klitschko victory, he needs to fight soon even if its a bum.
