1. Do you have to get started fighting amateur fights for a couple of years to see if you can win one and train?
2. Do i need to build muscle mass more to be in top shape?
3. What does it take to be intimidating in an amateur mma fight?
There is a ton of things to consider to get into mma especially if you’re trying to be a professional fighter.
One, you have to learn two major disciplines at minimum, a striking discipline ( boxing, Muay Thai, etc ) and one grappling discipline ( wrestling, Brazilian jiu jutsu, etc).
You will take a serious amount of physical damage and will train relentlessly even if you’re still recovering or injured.
Financially it will be incredibly difficult because you don’t earn as much as you can to survive solely on fights without a job in the beginning. The cost of training camps (which will take up a majority of the time), fighting gear, traveling , hotels, gas/ bus money, medical bills to repair the damage, etc. it will be a while before you get UFC prime time type checks , etc
You have to master them to the point you’re more than comfortable with execution of techniques and handling yourself in sparring matches in a effective way. You can sign up for local amateur matches in your area and see how you fair against others.
