French hypocrisy at its finest. When decendents of migrants commit crimes, they are foreigners and are not French, regardless of growing up in poverty or lack of education. When they win the world cup, they are French.

They have spent so much time demonizing them rather than working on solutions that can fix the problem, but they have the audacity to try and claim their success when they win the most important trophy in the world's most beloved sport. Why did they not win it for their home countries? Because their countries lack the financial resources to make such a dream possible, but make no mistake about it there is no shortage of talent. France has been taking resources in Francophone countries for the better part of a century now, and their military presence there isn't making things any better. The use of a Francophone Frank, complete reliance on French companies and use of the French language to keep them dependent while the French steal their resources and make them eat dust, then they dare try to claim their hardwork.

I have a very easy solution for France. If you don't like Africans, leave West Africa. Pull out your military bases, remove your companies and return the stolen gold and resources, stop supporting dictatorial regimes that agree with your policy and then maybe life will get better for these people and they will stop bothering you. If you don't want them as migrants, you don't deserve them as players. Enough said.

@KostasKouvalis Just say you are racist and move on. European colonialists used the same excuse to justify their savagery. Ever heard of the term "White man's burden"? To try and "civilize" the world, sending countless ships to loot the continent and its people, and then try and justify it by saying that you're helping them. Truth be told, neither of us can predict where Africa would be without colonialism, but the fact that you said it wouldn't be different shows where you stand.

The richest man in history came from West Africa. A lot of great dynasties have existed in the continent, at a time when Europe was living in the dark ages. If you want to call your immorality and war crimes as progress, the wear a pointy hood and go around burning crosses.

My personal view: A sports team has no justification to ''represent' a nation; they just play a sports in one specific team. If a ''nation'' sponsors this, it is of course a friendly gesture.

If ''my country'' wins - this is not my own merit; it is not a reflection of my own quality or success.

So how can it be of any importance that some sportsmen were born ''here'' and others were born ''elsewhere''?

I doubt they would considering they “never existed” before mobilizing “immigrant” in 1998. French natives don’t seem to be born football players compared to Brazilians, Germans, Swedish, Italians or the English. Zidane himself is of an Algerian origin.

The West created the "third world" when it sucked the wealth out of Africa and destroyed the Middle East for its own ends so how were these countries going to do much better in a global competition with limited resources, conflict etc?
