When your favorite player gets signed/drafted to a new team, do you abandon the team too?

Like do you support the new team (in whatever sport you’re into) that your player goes too? Or do you keep supporting both teams? Or do you still support your fave player but not the new team?

When i started back watching baseball, I was all about going wherever my men went lol. But now they’re all scattered out and thats annoying. I still support Atlanta Braves for my boys Acuna and Ozzie. (Its fck Ozuna at these days.) But When my baby Pache got sent to Oakland Athletics, i was like dammit. And now my love Dansby is going to Chicago cubs. But hey, at least he’ll be accompanied by my babe Cody. So like hey new team 🤣

I still support LA Dodgers for my boo Mookie and my boys Freddie and Chris. I hate my love Corey is with Texas Rangers now. And I’ll still support Tampa Bay Rays for Brandon but I hate my bae Kevin is with the Toronto Blue Jays whatever tf that is lmao. I feel like i’m forgetting someone. Real talk I need all my boys on a dream team haha. I mean baseball is fun to play but hard to watch. It gets dull without eyecandy like Dansby and Mookie or entertainment like Cody and Acuna. I gotta have em.

Im definitely more loyal to the player than the team 😂 The players came before the team for me. Like hell i chose the team because of the cute player on the roster. But I stuck with the team because they helped give exposure to my players talent

With Aussie Rules Football, the culture is strongly that you choose your team somewhere in the mists of childhood and you should stay with them for the rest of your life. People who change their team are not thought well of. It is not expected that a wife takes on her husbands team at marriage either.

It is traumatic if a star player of your team shifts or is traded to another team but you stay with the team. I really don't like this tendency. There should be loyalty from the players to the club and from the club to the players. Football needs to be tribal.

:) The rules are more pronounced in Melbourne than say Queensland. Our equivalent of baseball is cricket but there is no conflict there since we only care about the national side.

Lakers fan since NBA Live 2003, since Kobe Bryant and LA Lakers vs Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen and Celtics in the NBA Finals. If Kobe was drafted by Charlotte where he was born and stayed there for his entire career or later on played for the LA Lakers I’d still be a Lakers fan

I follow my college sports. Showing support to them.

If I come across a WNBA game i will watch it. I got players on certain teams I love to watch because of their playing styles match mine.

But i probably support the Dream the most because i just love Ari Mcdonald. She fast small and attacks the basket, and has a good eye finding an open player, and how to create the open player.

So maybe if she leaves the dream I would begin supporting where she goes next.

I have some favorite teams, but I'm not the typical supporter that goes nuts over the team, buys all the team's merch, knows all the players (an their wives/girlfriends) etc. I prefer watching the sport, whatever it is, and I enjoy watching several sports, and I most like it when the teams involved play well.
