kind of but it also depends on the situation? i can pretty much keep a calm straight head unless i'm goaded into being competitive
Yes, highly competitive. I'm usually a good sport unless I'm having a bad day, but winning is the most fun part of any competition and I feel frustrated with myself anytime I don't come in first.
Yes, you play the game to win not to tie or lose
no, i’ve never been the competitive type at all.

Not really. I don't need to be, as I tend to be better than your average person at most sports or other competitive games. I don't really care about winning or losing much because I truly believe that playing is fun and it's not about that. A couple examples:
Soccer/futbol: This is a team sport, but I am typically one of the better players in a pick up game or when I've met up with a regular group/class/league. At the end of the match, it doesn't matter to me if one side had 4 goals and the other had 1 or none. I might be playing with 26 people (represented by letters of the alphabet) who come and go. One day my team might be Players A, E, F, J, O, L, S, and G and we are "competing" vs. Players B, D, K, M, Z, Q, H W, and P. Another day, my team might be Players R, E, L, W, P, Z, and D, and we are playing vs. Players K, B, J, A, J, N, B, and O. My point is, what does it matter? It's bigger than just one person. Anyone who gets their ego up about winning a futbol match, especially in a pick up game, is silly.
Billiards: This is typically a 1 vs. 1 skill, and I can easily beat >9 of 10 people off the street. I've been in pubs that have one table with a policy that the winner stays and then there is a rotation where whoever is on the list pays for the next game and plays that winner. I've been "the person to beat" many nights. Just winning every game and rotating through whoever is in the line up, until I get bored and decide to leave. I do love the game, though, so I have had several nights where I play for hours for free, having only paid for the first game in order to get onto the table. I am not "competitive" at this game. I tend to cheer on my opponents and congratulate them on their shots, and am open to helping them improve if they seek guidance. If someone beats me, I am happy to have played such a skilled player. If I am playing someone who is a beginner, I adjust my game so as to not "skunk" them terribly. I do this for almost everyone I play, since it's not uncommon for me to be able to clear the table in one or two turns. I do this even on those nights I mentioned, where I am "running the table" for hours. I find people who have a competitive attitude about the game to be boorish, and when I get an attitude like that from someone, I tend to finish the game faster, so as to reduce the time I have to spend with that vibe.
In closing, there is a difference between professional and amateur play. I'm certain any pro soccer player or pro billiards player is far beyond me, and they must have a passion and drive for their skills to practice and obsess over them constantly (daily?). For that, I would forgive a certain amount of competitive spirit as it goes hand in hand with the drive and passion to be among the best of best. But even in those upper echelons, displays of poor sportsmanship or extremes of ego-driven competitive behavior are in poor taste.
I try when the situation seems to call for it.
