Before Mike Tyson, Jake Paul wasn't doing record-breaking PPV numbers, and a lot of his fights actually flopped, such as against Mike Perry, Bourland, etc. How did he manage to create quite possibly the most watched and popular combat sport event of all time? He isn't that relevant in the world; I mean, the older generation doesn't really know who Jake Paul is (it's mostly Gen Z and the youngsters). Is Mike Tyson just that big a name? I just don't understand why literally everyone watched the match and was talking about it because I didn't know people even cared about Jake Paul or a 58-year-old Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson's match against Roy Jones Jr. didn't even come close to the amount of popularity this fight had, and RJJ is a known boxing legend.

Because people will always speculate things like who's better Gretzky or Ovechkin or Ali vs Marciano and stuff like that. Take that and toss in the fact that Tyson was able to get himself back into that kind of shape, after being very sick, add in the history of Tyson's abilities, and tying it to many Gen X fans that want to believe the old timer can still whoop ass. Strange , I was asking this question yesterday , and none of the conclusions made sense to me , in theory everyone wanted to watch Mike ( yet Mike looked hopeless , except for 1st round ) , yet I would have thought Mike made it , but Mikes previous bout had no interest , Initially I thought Mike would be getting more than Paul , yet Paul gets way more..
