Quora noob just admitted that there are only 77 total submissions in Gracie Jiu Jitsu.
Note, that's not even one submission per bone or muscle in the human body. lol. So either he doesn't know what he's talking about, or Gracie Jiu Jitsu really is a totally inferior martial art to what I studied in the 1990s.
I laughed at him and told him I know over 200 Japanese Jiu Jitsu submissions and that there are actually roughly 800 total submissions on the human body which are taught in Isshinryu Karate class, if you rank up high enough anyway.
What do my nay-sayers think now?

Gracie Jiu Jitsu, like any martial art, is about more than just the number of submissions. Its focus is on leverage, technique, and efficiency in both self-defense and competitive settings. While it may have fewer submissions than other systems, it emphasizes practical application and adaptability. Direct comparisons to other martial arts can sometimes miss the unique strengths each discipline offers. Ultimately, it's about effectiveness and personal growth in your chosen art. 🤼♂️

There are 206 bones in the human body, so if I apply front pressure, back pressure, and both sides pressure to each bone, that would be 824 submissions, not counting certain nerve points and muscle points which aren't' necessarily stimulated by the same maneuver as the joint locks.
