The 1960s were the beginning of serious women golfers, with professionals playing in the LPGA, founded a decade earlier. Hemlines rose once again, just above the knee.

In the 2000s, shorts were still in style, with some women also wearing skirts.

@Shiprex Some clubs haven't changed their rules in years. Ladies can only play on ladies day, and their hemline must be below the knee. Not often enforced though.

This is true. A friend of mine worked in the R&A clubhouse in St Andrews about 20 years ago and then the only women allowed in the club were the waitresses.
