It's a negative. It's the equivalent of giving a toddler an iPad so they stop crying. People got so mad that an American who speaks Spanish and was vocally against ICE was headlining the show that they had to have their own "All American" show instead. People can bitch and moan about how singing in Spanish at an American event is a slap in the face of Americans but it really isn't. And for those who watched the SuperBowl, the show wasn't political; he made it as a love letter to Puerto Rico. The only English words he said was "God Bless America." My Spanish isn't amazing, so my boyfriend translated his songs for me beforehand and I was happy with the songs he performed. Having visited Puerto Rico a number of times, I loved how the set looked like it was ripped straight out of the land there. He had the Puerto Rican and USA flags leading the charge on his message of unity whole flying flags of the other American countries.

Sorry, but the TPUSA show was nothing more than tantrum theater.

It's a bad thing that anyone watches the halftime show. It's not football, so time to go to the bathroom, get something to eat, order a pizza, check the mail, pay the bills... anything but watch the halftime show. Not long ago it was just marching bands with tubas, drums and trombones marching around in neat patterns.

Ever since Janet Jackson showed her tits at halftime, and Roseanne Barr grabbed her crotch while singing the national anthem, it seems like being edgy in front of millions of people is the thing.

There are plenty of places to be edgy. Can't there be at least a few places that aren't edgy, controversial or political?

It is good that the alternative was available and good that millions prefer the better one all American. It was a big nothing. Around 130 million people watched the Super Bowl and only 6 million switched over to watch TPUSA halftime show, only 4.6%. Twice as many people watched the Puppy Bowl than TPUSA halftime show.
