With developing Technology, there is large increase in number of Hackers. There are different levels of hacking starting from E-Whoring ( very basic) to complex one like hacking FBI database / Facebook database.
In this take, I'll introduce you to it's basic level and measures to avoid it.
1) E-whoring : It is in accordance with whoring but online. It is also known as worst job on internet. In this type, you ( a man) pretends to be a female online attracting to other men and asking them to signup for specific website for which they get paid. These websites ask for your credit card no. as a method of identification for 18+ and promise you they won't charge but ultimately the do charge you without your concern. That's it. You're hacked :P
To avoid these traps, don't use these sites or give them your credit card instead use your PayPal which is comparatively more secure or you can use bitcoin.
2) RAT(Remote Access Trojan): It is type of malware/virus commonly spread through .exe or some online tool. To get infected from this virus is very simple. Just click on .exe file or click on certain web advertisement and your PC is compromised. There are different types of file extensions for iOS. This virus/tool can be spread even in worst ways. On screen your computer will show it is installing Java update or Microsoft office but without your knowledge it'll install RAT. After getting infected by RAT, its creator will get complete access to your computer via internet. With this file, he can access you files, your passwords, webcam, microphone etc.

Don't download any software from un-trusted sources
It may contain RAT. Most of the public torrents like PiretBay contain infected software. You can use private trackers for assurance.
Do not save any kind of password / Credit card numbers on your computer
If you save them on your PC, hackers can easily steal your money
Always use VPN for privacy
VPN ( Virtual Private Network) Changes your IP hence gives you privacy so hacker / anyone can't find your location.You can use simple free chrome extensions for that. Caution: Do not use Hola extension for Chrome as it diverts traffic i.e. you'll get another country's IP by compromising yours.'
Connect to Internet only when YOU need it
Always being online might sound cool but it is risky because if you are infected by RAT, hackers can access your pc through internet. SO no internet no hacking
Don't Be Dependent upon ANTIVIRUS :
Even I use paid subscription for Quick Heal antivirus but it isn't trustworthy.
There is encrypting type known as FUD which makes RAT undetectable for antivirus or firewalls.
Wipe your system time to time
This might sound funny but always create a backup for your files on external hard drive and reset your pc. After reset, each and every external program will be removed including RAT
COVER YOUR WEBCAM SPECIALLY LADIES
Many people laugh at this when I tell them even Mark Zuckerberg covers his webcam. The truth is, he is real smart. I know you are not celebrity nor famous person then why should you cover your webcam?
That's simple. Hackers gets paid 1$ for access to every female laptop cam. That's true. So specially for females, If you don't want your nudes to get famous online, cover your camera with tape. covering microphone isn't much helpful as voice can be heard through tape!
