From a technological point of view this statement makes no sense... If it stated "snapchat is used as a facial recognition database" I would agree.. Facebook even listens to your conversations and displays adds based on what you say arround your phone.. But than again google, microsoft, instagram also "steal" all they can from you and form databases..

[BeHappy1985]

almost forgot apple and the loging into your phone with your face... same story

[BeHappy1985]

also if you took your time to read about this patent you would know that the technology was created by Evan Spiegel and Robert Murphy not by FBI. And the database is being created by the users not by FBI. FBI couldnt even crack a god damn android phone, its like they dont even know how to google.

[dinhuhisserved]

Woke af.

[krupak]

Yeah. The Facebook app listens to your phone anytime it's on and has its own patent for tracking your facial expressions while you use it. Fuckerberg has a history of invading privacy.

[Decentguy]

Fuckberg, lmfaooo

[Unit1]

Hahaha, fuckberg. That's an interesting one 😆

But hey, i don't blame them. Those guys are clever, that they can collect information like that and exploit the naive, who think they are safe when they hand over information, that they shouldn't have only too willingly.

[EvilAngel114]

Facebook was on top of that way before snapchat. If I used either of those two platforms, I wouldn't care. I haven't done anything wrong for the FBI to come after me sooo...

[Decentguy]

how can i believe you haven't done anything wrong? Your USername starts from EvilAngel" you are hiding something, Aren't you?

[EvilAngel114]

Well just all the money from the bank robberies I didn't when I was 23 but that's it. Don't tell anyone. shhhh...

[Decentguy]

My mouth is zipped. Dont worry.

[EvilAngel114]

Thank you! You're the best!

[EvilAngel114]

LOL... totally something you'd do

[witherwing]

I Googled the patent as the picture suggested. I didn't find any mention of the FBI. The patent was given to the founders of Snapchat and the Snapchat Inc.

[Decentguy]

you have to type the number too

[witherwing]

I searched and read the patent, but I didn't see any mention of the FBI.

[LittleSally]

ALL of our phone cameras are...
(If none else, Apple phones definitely are... That's way more relevant than Snapchat...)

[Decentguy]

thats really common, almost everyone knows that. but snapchat is new in this

[LittleSally]

Phones have a much further reach than the number of Snapchat users...
It doesn't matter what's newer, but what makes a bigger impact...

[helpmate82]

I loose respect for any person who uses that shit. Dog tongues out of your kids mouths or flowers on your head? Are you 6?

I knew :)

[injustihs]

Highly doubt an app's camera is going to make a database of faces. Pretty much every one of those filter things use key features to center the filter to your face. Probably using the corners of your eyes and mouth as anchors.

Although it's not impossible for someone to be using the front camera to make a database of faces, it's probably only being done on iPhones, and Google phones (ie: Pixel)

[Unit1]

I'm not surprised. There is no privacy in the digital world today. Mass surveillance and big brother is watching. I am aware of that long ago.

[Decentguy]

maybe they have saw you many times fapping?

[Unit1]

How would they?

[Decentguy]

They def can, you know, the camera of your laptop screen isn't even safe, it can be hacked at any time, without you knowing, Hackers can do it every easily, and the light won't even come when they'll be watching you, Even Mr. Fuckberg, always covers his webcam of his laptop with a piece of paper

[Unit1]

I don't have a camera 📷. 😎
And i don't have a laptop. ;P
My webcam at work is even covered by a piece of paper.

[Decentguy]

Nice :D

[pink1980]

I don’t use Snapchat. It does seem off it it’s the FBI software being used.

[Decentguy]

i dont use it either, lol
its honestly a very retarded app in my opinion.

[jakemiller1230]

Well I never have used snap chat but it doesn't surprise me and if I did I would have nothing to worry about if I don't commit a crime.

[sam66270]

It doesn't matter if you have nothing to hide. I mean, everyone does but just dont snapchat the secret maybe?

[Rfelic1]

Snopes actually did a fact check on this and has claimed it to be false

[Franitz]

I don't use snapchat and I don't have anything to hide anyway.

[zxcded]

I knew that before you lol

[Decentguy]

I'll make sure to be hurry the next time >:(

[jacquesvol]

Does the FBI sell its database?

[Decentguy]

dont know, lol
but why you need to knowthat?

[jacquesvol]

Because Idon't think they'd sell it to Snapchat.

[RidingForever2]

I wonder what they do with all the dick pics?

[Decentguy]

hahahaha

[Unit1]

They will know the criminal by the dick picture, so more information is less privacy and increased risk of being busted.

[LeeKenz]

What are with your poll options?

[Decentguy]

why? Not good?

[LeeKenz]

They make no sense
