From a technological point of view this statement makes no sense... If it stated "snapchat is used as a facial recognition database" I would agree.. Facebook even listens to your conversations and displays adds based on what you say arround your phone.. But than again google, microsoft, instagram also "steal" all they can from you and form databases..

also if you took your time to read about this patent you would know that the technology was created by Evan Spiegel and Robert Murphy not by FBI. And the database is being created by the users not by FBI. FBI couldnt even crack a god damn android phone, its like they dont even know how to google.

I Googled the patent as the picture suggested. I didn't find any mention of the FBI. The patent was given to the founders of Snapchat and the Snapchat Inc.

Highly doubt an app's camera is going to make a database of faces. Pretty much every one of those filter things use key features to center the filter to your face. Probably using the corners of your eyes and mouth as anchors.

Although it's not impossible for someone to be using the front camera to make a database of faces, it's probably only being done on iPhones, and Google phones (ie: Pixel)
