I just realized I've never met anyone using two spaces after a period. So now I'm curious. Enlighten me!

In the days of typewriters, the "proper" thing according to all the expert styles, was two spaces after a period. When computers and modern printers came into play, the standard was changed to one space because the newer fonts had spacing corresponding to the size of the character and looked better with one space. However, the truth is that the period, being so small, has almost no space and going with one space instead of two actually looks more crammed together. But when one tries to put two spaces there, often the computer removes one, and printer still seems to jam spacing together.
I was absolutely lost at first... seeing all these questions about sex my mind went to the other kind. I was confused what on Earth you meant...
One space. Looks proper. Two spaces looks weird and is bothersome- the reader just wants to jam the words together. I like one space. I don't like two space. A line break after every sentence is a great way to make your paper look longer, but frustrating to read.
It depends what style guide you use. Companies and other organizations usually have all sorts of crazy preferences
Just one. But always Oxford comma!

Two spaces were necessary on typewriters to sufficiently separate the period and the next letter. On Modern computers this isn't necessary. I find that it is primarily people who grew up with typewriters that do double spaces. I had a professor who made the class write a paper with double spaces and we all hated it because we hadn't done it before.
You talking about women parking? What difference would it make. if she just had her period?
That way you know whether it's safe to critisize her or not.
It's obviously one space. Let me show you:
1. I ran to the store. Alice then bumped into me.
2. I ran to the store. Alice then bumped into me.
3. I ran to the store.
Alice then bumped into me.
It becomes very clear.
i was taught two and still use two although i know it's well accepted that you only need one
I usually use 2 spaces. Just how I was raised. Now it is a habit.
I used to do 2, but I've since switched to 1 as it's more efficient.
One space after a period. We aren't savages!
period or not. u keep going. lol
1. 1
2. 2
Lets ponder on this for a while
No spaces after a period
ALWAYS use two spaces after a period.
It all depends on my mood at that time
Most publications recommend using just one.
