Some pics I shared permanently (not a one view photo / video) with my friend in instagram Direct Messages didn’t get saved properly on the « shared » section. This is a section where all photos and videos shared in the chat get saved so we can find them easily.
I still can see the photos and videos on the chat but don’t see all of them in the Shared section (for some pics it didn’t work).

It might have a filter that mutes out copyrighted photos or duplicate images from other sites so if you post on sites other than Instagram it could be viewed as a duplicate image
it might also be the file and pixel size - sometimes when I post images on gag I have to reduce the file size or pixel density before Gag will let me post images
It might also be a formatting issue - like JPEG / PDF etc... different types of files accepted or rejected by them
It might also be the shape of the image - if it doesn’t correspond with the format of the site
