As of the moment I don’t have any cryptocurrency but within the near future I probably will. I’ll keep it in my invisible wallet.
Can someone explain how to do cryptocurrency in plain English?
Do I have to give my ID for some reason? Is it safe to do this? Who is getting that information?
If you want to use the crypto exchanges (or any financial app) then you have to complete the KYC process (know your customer) by giving your ID.
It'll be stored on their servers so that government can check it when necessary to keep the criminal activities in check.
It's safe. The only downside is that it can be sold to other companies to target you for ads if the company you're using lacks integrity which is very uncommon with such apps or it can maliciously be used by your government if it is corrupted or autocratic. But then again, such governments can get your ID by any means necessary. So, either way, deem your IDs safe.
The unsafe part about these apps isn't your privacy but their operation if they don't comply with the regulations of the government.
If they're selling private information about me from my ID, that doesn't sound too safe.
No they're not. I'm only mentioning the possibility. Such apps have other ways to earn money, unlike social media apps
I don't own any and I have no plans to ever own any. I simply do not believe in it. It doesn't solve anything and just create problems.
