Is it illegal for pedophiles to post smut of children?

So I came across this website/ blog that posts smut of children. Some of them are about 7 yr olds🤢

A lot of them are about raping sexually assaulting kids. Is there any way I could get it taken down or something.

People are mentioning the FBI but actually child pornography is usually more in the ballpark of ICE or another component of the DHS (such as Secret Service) rather than the DOJ, usually dependent on who has investigators to spare, and whether the perpetrator is involved with a larger operation. This is of course assuming that the source is within the United States, because if it's a foreign source there's basically nothing that can be done except a token attempt to block the site (s) they publish on.

@dustybiker Yes, and I'm familiar with the program; it is not really what you're looking for in this case however unless you physically are, or know someone who is a victim or suspected victim of it. That isn't to say that they couldn't forward relevant information to an investigator, however.

Sadly it depends on where it is being hosted, if it is hosted outside the USA in a country that doesn't care, not much can be done other than having it blocked in the states.

In the states and many countries it would be illegal, I say this as someone that had my own rape posted on line from when I was 14. Even when it got taken down it would pop up somewhere else. If it was hosted outside the states, it was pretty impossible to get taken down but search engines could not list it in worst case scenarios. They often do if they know a certain location hosts illegal activity, which then essentially puts it on the dark web.

@dustybiker That is pretty much what I meant, blocked, censored from anything here... like how China or Iran, controls what shows up on the internet in their locations. Many ways to block it, but VPN's where you change your location to a not blocked area can sometimes be used to get around it.

That would be illegal in nearly every country. How you'd go about reporting it would depend on the country you were in, but you want to make sure you don't have any of that crap in your browser history/cache either.

Yes, you can try reporting it on the site. But some sites don't care about it. Law enforcement is your best bet.
