My brother and I have experimented with incandescent bulbs. The argument for their demise is largely false, especially in cooler climates. What do you need on a dark winter's evening? Heat and light. Incandescent bulbs give both.

Our experiment was to light our "computer room" by 6 X 150 watt bulbs. It was very brightly lit, and all that heat produced kept it warm.

Change to led bulbs and we had to turn the radiator on, or run a 1kw fan heater to make up the loss in heat.

Electric cars control their charge and usage better than most appliances. They won't "overcharge" and once they are at the correct level will shut off.

Old filament bulbs are highly inefficient and give more heat than light. Not to mention give the worst electricity conversion of any light source. They are cheap, is the only reason they are still around.
