Is it possible to have text auto forwarded to another number? My current phone is near death?

My phone over heats rapidly. The power stage is malfunctioning. This caused the screen to light in a gradient from top to bottom. SO basically its a zombie.
I have a new phone on the way but till then I have calls forwarded but there seems to be no way to have the text done. I called my service provider and they know of no way either.

Maybe ask around your friends and see if anyone has an old phone lying around doing nothing or check ebay or similar for a super cheap phone?

Those are great ideas I already tried. And I have a new phone on the way. And the few days without it I can live very well. I just don't want any emergencies or people thinking I am ghosting them.
Still No one seems to have a way to forward text. Seems like a major oversight.

Oh, they dont care about service, only that you keep giving them money and its only times like this that you notice and might care about it.

I had a dead phone for a while and I asked my provider if missed messages and calls etc would be delivered to me, I had assumed there was an amount of time they would store them for and keep trying to deliver them but nope, they literally make no effort what so ever.

If your phone isn't on and connected when it comes in then its basically in the wind, you might get notified about something or might get a message but there is absolutely no effort or interest at their end to and lets be clear about this, do the job that they have been contracted to do.

I think its outrageous personally, if i put something in the post that will get delivered even if i write something ridiculous like Bob, little cottage at the end of narrow lane with trees, whatever place.

They will actually try to figure that out and if you have even remotely given them enough information it will get there.

I agree with the major companies I found this all true.
I use mint mobile. Love them. My bill is only $15 a month.
I use their website to chat with techs and even yesterday when I was 57th in line it only took about 5 minutes to get life help.
This last time was the only time I did not get what I needed because it seems its not possible to forward text.
Well I did get the answer as that is what I asked. So technically it was solved.
I was with TING before this and Loved them too but Mint inched them out.
I will most likely never go back to the big companies.

Yeah, that sounds good.

I dont think those are available where I am, there is sort of cooperative network which I have thought about joining called Giff Gaff but I haven't really looked into that fully but maybe thats better.
