If AirPods no longer say owner can see location, can owner no longer see location?

I bought AirPods off fb marketplace and I assume they were stolen. I’ve never had them before so I didn’t know for sure how to make sure. I was told the guy who sold them to me had reset them and they connected to my phone no problem. Later on, it showed that the owner of the AirPods can see my location. I’m just nervous to have someone see my location and think I’m the one who stole them and show up to my house. When I first saw this I hadn’t been home yet and did what iPhone said to do to disable them. It’s not shown that owner can see location since then but it’s still showing on the map my route from when I bought them to my house. I reset them (I assume the fb guy was lying about resetting them) but that wasn’t until I got to my house, but like I said it only showed owner could see them the one time.
