I haven't heard of LoJack since 2000. I had it installed in my brand new 2001 car.
Do they still install LoJack GPS on vehicles?
I haven't heard of LoJack since 2000. I had it installed in my brand new 2001 car.
I remember when Lo Jack started up in the late '80s when I was a motor vehicle damage field adjuster/appraiser and auto body shops started selling and installing it.
It was radio-frequency-based system.
Apparently, Spireon rebranded its "Kahu" telematics platform as the new LoJack system, which uses cellular/GPS technology rather than the old radio frequency technology.
Service Transition: The older, traditional LoJack service ceased operations around March 2021.
Availability: The new, modern LoJack is largely sold through auto dealerships as a pre-installed, subscription-based service for vehicle security and tracking.
Support: The current company continues to support stolen vehicle recovery and offers app-based tracking for users.
The company itself was acquired by Spireon
They don’t do lojacks in the same sense (a radio device)
But they still install Lojack applications into onboard computers.
Essentially a cellular connection that can be used to triangulate the location of a vehicle

Well, I mean.\nThey do, but you could also just go down to Walmart. Get yourself a dog.\nTracker , put it in your glove , box or tape it up underneath your glove box and you can track your car too
LoJack was a local company. It was acquired by another company. Instead of using the old RF technology which worked by triangulating to determine the location of the vehicle they use GPS. That is why we never hear about LoJack anymore.
Lot of cars have inbuilt GPS system that sends coordinates over (in EU obligatory) emergency Cell phone signal. However most car thefts learn how to deactivate it after first holiday in prison.
See, for example i don't know what a LoJack means, plus i'm not into such questions really, like why would i care if cars has a LoJack or not 🤣🤣

You got lucky here using this question to prove your point, but all of my other questions I ask aren't about stuff like this and you know it?
I surely know, your question might be interesting for others and some other questions of yours might be interesting for me but not for others, so it really depends on the person, your questions has nothing to do with it 🙂
I've owned 4 vehicles since 2000. None of them had LoJack in them.
My new car doesn't have lojack
