I saw a “Seinfeld” episode in which “George” needs to use a (stationary public) “pay phone”…when’s the last time you used a pay phone (and why)? (Page 2)
The last I used a pay phone was 14 years ago outside a shell convent store. I think like week after they was no longer there.

Oh wow—how can you pin point the year so well?…Is there something that was happening at the time (like something about a college school year or person, etc.) that you were calling on the pay phone about, or what?
I was helping my brother move when he came back from boot camp and. l was following him but I lost him in heavy traffic and didn't exactly know where he was moving too. I also didn't have a cell phone at that time but I could remember his cell number.
Oh ok. When I was growing up I saw the “communicator” being used in rerun episodes of the original “Star Trek” tv series, and that was all still just science fiction, and cellular/mobile phones were not starting to be widely available until like ~ 25 years ago.

Oh ok, VERY cool & nostalgic comment about your brother and how we all dealt w things like you did then before we had cell phones.
Back in Pennsylvania in a plaza. I think back in 2010.
For what reason were you making a pay phone call then?
I didn't. It was just there. Gone now I would think. hahaha
I selected D and it was probably an airport.
Never used a pay phone
Have you seen one IRL?
I have haha, just never dialed a number through it.
Oh ok.
Believe it or not, but I have never used one
I can definitely believe it…have you seen pay phones anywhere IRL?
When I was a kid I saw
Oh ok.

I used one last week to call a taxi.
Oh really?…why didn’t you use your mobile phone?
And can you vote E in the poll?
I only use my mobile for work.
Oh, so you don’t text or call family or friends on that phone?
I don't text or make calls to anyone unless it is an emergency.
Oh wow, that’s very rare nowadays.
In highschool so before June of 2000.
Where did you make a call on a pay phone?…at your high school?; or while in high school, but at like a mall?; or what?
At the high school. I called to let my parents know when I was done with band practice or playing at the games.
Oh ok. Yeah, I think that sort of communication was a/maybe “the” primary reason why administrators put pay phones into schools.
i haven't seen a phone booth or a pay phone in over a decade maybe more
Ok. Which answer-option letter did you select in the poll to this question?
Note: this question is about when you LAST USED a pay phone.
In 2012
For what reason were you making a pay phone call then?
And how did you vote in the poll to this question—D or E?
Last week to page they guy I know who gets things
You didn’t want that call on your cell phone?
Voted B
You’ve never used one…didn’t you ever want to use one just to be able to say you’ve used one?
Lol I lived in the country growing up and as an adult I always assumed they didn’t work!
Lol. Why not try one to see if it was working?
Maybe I will next time I see one.
Ok, you should (before they go away for good).
Maybe like 2006?
What do you recall using a pay phone for around then?
