My home computer runs Windows 10, I have no desire to upgrade to Win11.
At work, we have Windiws 10 laptops and Redhat Linux servers.
Linux is for super computers. Windows is for normal users.
Nah! I use Ubuntu all the time. True, Unix is used for serious machines, but Linux distros can do everthing a Win m/c can do for home use.
I have used Windows 95, 98, XP, 7, 10

Linux now- unintentionally. I'd been running Windows 7, since 8 was a debacle and ten was everything wrong with Microsoft in one neat little package, and I knew I'd have to make the jump at SOME point, but I was putting it off until my life got more stable and I could take the time to properly learn a new OS.
Then my system drive died.
No big deal, right? I've installed Windows dozens of times. Unfortunately, the only installer I've got left won't work on any of the hard drive partitions available to me- and I don't have any disks left small enough to repartition and serve as a new system drive. Were I back in Chicago and able to scare up fifteen bucks, I could get a new one, no problem- the irony is not lost on me- but here in Florida, we don't HAVE Microcenters, and Fry's no longer exists. Of course, I don't have fifteen bucks, either.
Poverty sucks, even in the US- avoid it if you can.
And so I'm awkwardly fumbling through, struggling to overcome learned instincts I picked up, some from before I learned to read.
At the moment Win7 Pro, but if Microsoft insist on putting up barriers (which hardware can run newer iterations of Windows) then I'll be shifting over to Linux as/when I buy a new Laptop/PC.
I've used Linux in the past and found that all the distros run faster on the same hardware as Windows, with fewer crashes, the only reason I'm running Win7 Pro ATM is that it came on the Laptop and I've had no problems with it.
Shift onto Ubuntu or similar now! So easy you might not need a new machine!
@Jessica405 I've found that running Linux distros run faster on older speced PC's than any of the Windows flavours and they are also less of resource hogs because of the bloatware wrapped up in Windows
I find the same. Boots faster, unless you stop as many Microsoft services, at boot up, as you can getcaway with. Even so, I still thing some lite distros would be faster.
Nah! Windoze is rubbish. I have to use it in my work, but my real love is Ubuntu Linux. I use both on my desktops, and both on my laptops. Linux distros are free, as is all the other software most people wil need. No huge updates from MS that frequently go wrong. Relatively easy on resources and fast.
fedora or Ubuntu?
@QuietRunner I use Ubuntu 22.04. All software fully updated.
I like Windows 10. I'll likely consider 11 when the requirement is there. I hate that Microsoft is making the upgrade path more difficult, requiring the average user to hack their way into allowing the OS to run on older equipment.
I like Linux and would run it except for certain applications that are strictly Windows.
I'm pretty sure I use windows... but that penguin up there is probably Linux and I use that for all my music stuff (tablatures). Phonewise... I'm guessing it's all Android.
Windows. I used it all my life no reason to stop now
Linux os for techno geeks so it's hard to use. Mac is awful. You made a smart move.
There isn't a point to asking people this, because each os is good at it's niche, and terrible at everything else.
no mac is terrible for everything.
No, osx/ios is the best for artists, musicians, video editing, and content creators in general. But is bad for anything else.
Windows is good for gaming and is shit at everything else because as a work machine, you do not want buggy programs, pen input latancy, forced updates, etc.
Linux is good for most other things, except gaming and content creation.
Its like trying to compare the microwave with the fridge and vacuum.
I marked Windows.. but honestly I got Windows and Linux with two PC's but I am a software developer.. so that may be effecting that
I use Linux zorinos I can not stand windows.

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
I never disrespected Linux I just said its for super computers not normal people. Windows is.
Windows. Always Windows.
Though I have seen Dad use a few Linux-based OS from time to time.
Those and more. You forgot ChromeOS and Debian
debian is linux
Correct. Just another Linux distro.
Window and be careful cause Windows 11 tries to get people to upgrade.
Windows 10. Hate, that it's basically spyware but I can castrate some of it's spying things. It's the most ergonomic OS I know and handles like a glove.
Windows 11 is just awful and the opposite of ergonomic.
OS Catalina, OS Monterey, Windows 10, Windows 11, Zorin 16. My office server is Windows Server 2016. No need to upgrade it.
I have a macBook but rarely use it. Mostly Windows though I have Linux VM's running on it.
