There are just some people on here who are not blockworthy but they annoy me to the point that I unfollow just to take a break from em. It doesn’t mean I won’t still occasionally answer their questions or reply to them. I still will. If I happen to notice it, I remove them from my following list as well, if I follow them already.
There is no need to be offended or ask them the reason. They had their own reasons for doing so and I am cool whatever they might be.

Suggestion, when someone is blocked, the blocker must specify the reason for blocking, and that reason is shown to the blocked person when they get the you-are-blocked message.

I think it depends on their reason. Some people follow you because they want you to follow them back. You can clearly tell you're blocked when the site sends you “recommended questions” or when you go to the front page to answer a “featured” question, type up your reply and then learn you're blocked. Now as for unfollows/follows, I don't know how people know that part. I would definitely assume they keep a list
