Now we have electric cars should we bring back the coffee machine?

This was a thing? Well, holy shit.
I still pull my ashtray out and store receipts in there. At one time... that thing got actually used for cigarettes. It's just crazy to think about. On my cop car, I have these little guards over the windows so that you can crack the window and the rain doesn't get in. That's for smokers. I imagine a time when my car was in service and there were dudes in there just smoking and patrolling the Canada/US border. Probably parked most of the time talking shit about their wives.
So you are suggesting one does not need to be sober when they start driving, plus coffee would only make the driver more awake, not sober. And then they could also spill hot coffee in their laps and drive through crowds screaming in pain. Not to long ago their were lawsuits against places like McDonald's for having coffee in their drive-throughs that scalded drivers crotches while they drove.
In those times, cars were not made for main stream consumption, they were made for the very rich so the amount of resources and time and man power used in making a single car was different and people though having coffee machines in cars was normal. Now they are designed to be easier to buy so that normal people can afford to buy them after a certain age so they skimp on the luxuries the older cars used to have.
I'm still waiting for them to bring back the dash mounted record player. But the amp and period speakers would take up the whole trunk. No room for any bodies then.

That percolator is dated technology. Using today's technology, it should be an automatic machine where you can select 27 different kinds of coffee... hands-free, of course. Don't want to distract you from driving. 😉
That would be SO cool. I'd buy one. Of course, you'd have to be careful not to burn yourself and then crash and burn! Other than that, hell yeah!
YESSS. coffee is like the best thing to safely get addicted to. Other than sugar..
The advert says it's also for tea ("auch fuer tee"), that's what I voted for. It would be more efficient to have a slot in the engine for a percolator, but a bit tricky to access on the move.
You can never have too much coffee.
If I could get a latte out of my dash at anytime I would 100%
No they were removed as they exploded, and were risky equipment worse than playing with a mobile phone while driving.
You've clearly never made coffee by machine, and it shows!
What a great idea. But the style of coffee cup and the tray it sets on look kind of unstable. The tray should be more like a modern cup holder for cars to hold a 12 oz plastic cup steady.
Of course! It'll be the new Keurig. "Now in travel size with 12v adapter." I bet I could make one fit. Thanks for the idea!
yes, but put it in the back seat where the passenger goes since Tesla will have auto driving cars soon, within the next 30 years.
You could probably install this as there are plenty of accessories like this for instance every British army vechile including tanks can boil water for cups of tea.
Slurping coffee while standing in morning traffic jam. That's a good idea.
I never seen an old car like that. Do they make Frappuccino’s?
Well , with driverless cars perhaps we could expand well beyond coffee and tea.
Starbucks wouldn’t be happy unless they were able to get in on the deal. It sounds a bit messy. I’d rather just make it home and bring it with me.
I'd rather have them invent a way for you to use the bathroom while you're in your car without it smelling.
They should bring back the ache tray before I start turning off my cigarettes on top of people’s heads
Yes all of that. And then more would die of stupidity and thin the herd.
If I don't drink coffee (which i don't), i shouldn't have to pay for it
No. Boiling hot water is not good for your skin!
In order to do that first they'd have to bring back cars to put the coffee makers in them.
I would rather have a beer tap/
I don't want my lap to get burnt. Pass!
Low key, would buy a car with that feature.
It was an ATTACHMENT, NOT standard!
That was a thing? That doesn't sound very safe
Looks cool never knew that about cars.
It is illegal to drink and drive
Seems unsanitary
I prefer tea, but yes, it's a good idea! :)
They would have to keep up the roads first.
tea maker please
..3rd
f*ck nah
No, that's not a good idea and it never was.
A jidery driver huh?
